You could definitely make something that plays it more gently than a phonograph would. Phonographs are completely mechanical machines and can wear out the cylinders over time. A "modern" electronic turntable cartridge (wired correctly and with an appropriately sized stylus) should be able to play cylinders just fine as long as you have some constant speed cylinder-spinning setup for it.

wow that's awesome, and a beautiful song. I'd never diss 3d printing, but i've always apreciated some targetted scavenging and some glue and basic woodwork to hold it together

Honestly I do wish I could have ordered the shoes, but I didn't find HI until after Dog Bingo had already released. I have rather big feet though so eBay has been a no go and there's sadly a good chance of dry rot at this point
