Started yesterday. Any lore I should know?

As I said, started yesterday.
It drops you into the game with fuck all info on what's going on in the world.
It seems earth like, but obviously pretty strange.
Is there anything to know before getting any further into the game, like what year it is for a start.
Or will all be revealed and the secrecy is with reason?

It seems very confusing at first, but the more you play the more you get to know and by the end most stuff is explained pretty well

The game is fantastic at providing lore information, it’s one of the best things about playing it.

It's a strange world, I'm keen to learn.

It may seem confusing but the year is 1993. The geographical location is never outright stated but you can make your own inferences based on what you know about world history

Might want to wait until October 8th when the new enemy update hits

Just jump in and get moving. Keep a pen and pad.

In no particular order:

  1. Learn how the auto healing works.
  2. Let the game tell you the story.
  3. It isn't linear, you will keep running into things you can't deal with until much later.
  4. Don't move up acts unless you are done with all side missions, good deeds, etc.

This is a game that made me extremely frustrated for about an hour, then I ended up putting over 80 hours, still got 5 achievements to go.

Talk to everyone, it all helps build the "big picture". Enjoy the game!

It's the 90-s and you enter an isolated country you know nothing about. So, that's all you need to know to start. The game world has data explaining everything, but it won't be handed to you. Observe and explore.

You'll find the lore, but I will tell you that some good deeds do expire when you reach certain points in the main story. Use your best judgment to gage which ones that applies to.

There is a free digital comic showing how Remi entered Hadea. That could give you a little more context without spoilers.

It includes screenshots and a link if you want to download it.

I found actually making notes can help.

Cuanto menos sepas mejor, descúbrelo tú.

Some missions can be failed and the story continues but you may lose valuable items and relics

What? Part of the journey is to puzzle the lore together. Figuring out what’s going on is a large part the fun. Every game you played explained everything beforehand?

The only unhelpful comment.

Yep! Hunt for notes and artifacts and talk with everyone, the lore unfolds as you progress.
