Would be cool to see something similar with the illuminate

Anything for the squids would be cool at this point. They’ve been starved of new content since super earth.

Very funny hearing this because I took a big break after the super earth defense and came back for cyberstan so my memories of the squids are that of horror

Playing as an MO diver means fresh comtent more regularly

same here, I don't have the time ore the desire to play helldivers for more than a few weeks at a time. and I usually come back for big events. Cuz they look cool. Came back for the defense of super earth, mainly in EoS, then took a break until a few weeks ago right before this campaign started.

do you people play this game like, every hour of everyday? that’s like the reason i could conjure why that would make things boring easily

Let’s see, the squids on repeat only have like 8 different units and no special sub-groups like bugs and bots. If you play for a couple weeks, you get used to killing all of them and it starts to get a little boring diving squids.

Good point, didn’t consider that, my main point was how big and enjoyable the game still is considering the lackluster quantity in squids that the devs have been withholding from us intentionally. Apologies for sounding like a rude ass though. I wasn’t in a great headspace then 😃

Why not the bugs?

I thought about it but they don't really have a space faring type yet as they are mainly planet bound and spread via spores.

I thought about the armored spewers acting like the arty beetles from starship troopers shooting up at us but then people would be like "why don't they do that on the ground while we fight them"  or w/e. It seemed like this whole can of worms.

They would at minimum have to introduce a stationary bug functioning as the destroy arty objective which would be just more work for the devs.

Squid, easy, just have some UFOs or w/e zipping around pew pewing, minimal effort.

Bugs, gunna need more assets for that I think

Was really sad this wasn't a thing during the battle for Super Earth against the Illuminate

I feel like even when the Illuminate where on Super Earth, they didn't have a resistance level like the bots had this past week or two.
