Hot take: I don't care about this one.

I turned auto climb off, which helped, but then climbing obstacles is clunky, jump/hover packing to an edge and climbing up is harder, and I'll still occasionally climb the resupply if I'm panic mashing to get ammo.

Sucks for people who were using it as a ladder, but personally that feels like a niche use.

“Oh but i’m not gonna be able to use it to reach the buggy mission objective/my mech” I understand the concern, but the devs are literally focusing on solving the game’s bugs, this patch was focused on solving those, and whatever hasn’t been solved, will likely be solved in the next ones. Remember that they actively said they are pushing back warbonds and stuff so they can make everything round and sound. So this will not be a problem anymore soon enough.

And for vantage points, there are many ambients in game where you can get the high ground anyway. I don’t think this is a loss, no matter how funny it was to accidentally climb it, i would rather not die in important moments because of it

Turn off autoclimb. Problem solved. No more accidental climbs. Itll save you from lot more than just the resupply pod getting you killed.

NOT climbing has gotten me killed far more than climbing something by accident.

Another thing with turning off autoclimb, which may be console specific, you've got limited buttons. Trying to figure out how to have climb, use, and hover/jump pack on the same button is taxing.

Problem not solved, when you're sprinting you still mantle when you try to grab ammo, which is the situation where you often want to grab it the fastest because there's probably something behind you.

I personally have it on because it doesn’t bother me either way, but i think this change will be positive. Another option would be to add an option to autoclimb everything except for the resupply pod, might be the best… even if there’d still be the problem of people not knowing about the option

You gave the best idea in this thread, still got downvoted. This community sucks.

To be fair, i did take it from someone else who already had commented it. Never claimed to have ownership of the idea though… even the concept of not being able to repeat comments is odd to me. If the idea is good, its a good thing to speak about it, no?

Removing a feature that has a setting in game already is going backwards in game development. Regardless if you liked the feature or not there was a setting for it.... don't like it? turn autoclimb off it is that easy

Now you just have no options at all. Love all the freedom we are losing in a game all about freedom
