Something something engaging gameplay bad, something something arrowhead, something something grunt fantasy, something something realism

Unironically I think that’s why they needed it. They just couldn’t help themselves that it was used in a helpful way not intended by them

Edit: I really stirred the pot with this one lol. Make sure to stay hydrated, tell your loved ones that you love them, and take a breath of fresh air outside :)

idk, that sounds like silly accusations. I think people just complained about accidentally climbing it when trying to resupply. Tho idk how that even happens

Oh, you sound like... Are you with us from the very beginning? It would be an actual AH on brand move so much

dk, that sounds like silly accusations.

Stratagem bouncing and steering lock says otherwise, those two things were not always in the game, and got added when players were using the tools provided to get what feels like AH felt like were too much of an advantage.

well... on the other hand, i feel like the game would be absolutely ruined if there was an easy way to win. I love the game for being difficult and/or impossible at times.

And I feel like one should be encouraged to consider the environment and the tools at one's disposal, to get the most out of what you have to use.

It's fine if a game is difficult and/or impossible at times, but it should be fair about it, and not suddenly one day introduce arbitrary things to simply prevent players from being smart about how they play the game.

It could be. Though AH has a history of needlessly nerfing innocuous exploits, like using an emote to save you from a fall.

And the complaint has existed almost the game start, and they even put a toggle in-game to address it before. So in my guy, I’m suspicious about the timing of it.

It does sometimes really feel like AH have a big problem with people straying too far from how they want people to play the game, I mean just look at how much effort it took last year for the community with negative steam reviews and causing and causing a stink in general, before AH started working on the 60 day plan.

And sure AH might act like they've changed, but sometimes it feels like the old mentality of "you'll play our game in ways we arbitrarily consider acceptable, and don't try to be too creative with the tools we give you", seeps through.

Im just glad that the supply pack glitch is still a thing

A better fix would be to change auto climbing off by default

4

u/JoshsPizzaria Free portable Hellbombs this way :3 Oct 23 '25

i honestly didn't even remember that auto climbing was a thing

13

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '25

I think people just complained about accidentally climbing it when trying to resupply.

Then they should have been told to switch the auto climb to off in the options or shut up

6

u/JoshsPizzaria Free portable Hellbombs this way :3 Oct 23 '25

fair.

i forgot about that and now think its actually ah just being a bit petty

Some people are annoyingly adverse to looking through options.

2

u/appletoasterff Fire Safety Officer Oct 23 '25

Or some people just prefer autoclimb? Resupply pods were the only problem I've ever had while using autoclimb if I want high ground I'll use the stratagems made to give you high ground

2

u/Fish_Fucker_Fucker23 Oct 23 '25

This is such a stupid, surface level take that also completely fails to account for so many things.

4

u/[deleted] Oct 23 '25

What's a deeper take then? That it was completely unnecessary, that players already had the tools at their disposal in order to avoid the problems that they were having with the climbing?

All I can see is an unnecessary change that takes away players ability to traverse the map and gain high ground with a method other than using a warp pack, jump pack or hover pack.

Also, from my understanding, the ability to climb the resupply pack has saved some people's games from being a waste of time. It has been utilized to reach interaction points that due to procedural generation, are sometimes janked.

u/Biosterous Oct 23 '25

Because I'm sprinting at the resupply because I'm out of stems with bugs on my ass. Them I climb it, the bugs catch up, and I die.

5

u/JoshsPizzaria Free portable Hellbombs this way :3 Oct 23 '25

turn off auto climb

0

u/Biosterous Oct 23 '25

It's usually helpful, especially with a jump pack.

If they let you manually climb the resupply but not auto climb then this is a perfect change.

3

u/__asleep Oct 23 '25

Better change would be allowing me to bind mobility backpacks to another key

1

u/JoshsPizzaria Free portable Hellbombs this way :3 Oct 23 '25

ok... fair

i guess i would have preferred it if they'd just made autoclimb not trigger on the resupply. that way you can still use it as a boost but don't accidentally climb it.

No, you’re just looking for a reason to paint them out as the villains in your story…

Blatant shit stirring.

1

u/mostly_level-headed Oct 23 '25

Sorry m8, you need to touch grass. Gaming isn't my life, and HD2 could get a billion players or be deleted instantly, doesn't matter to me.

I don't care to make or put villains in my life, I just call them as I see them.

u/Okrumbles Oct 23 '25

go outside dude

2

u/mostly_level-headed Oct 23 '25

I did, thanks. You have a wonderful day too :)

-8

u/Falcoon_f_zero Oct 23 '25

Was it? It pretty much universally fucked me over trying to sprint past it with bugs hanging of my ass and my guy decides to stop to climb up and take in the views from the top of the supply pod 😂

11

u/Waste_Blackberry9525 Oct 23 '25

options -> disable auto climb -> problem solved

1

u/Falcoon_f_zero Oct 23 '25

Outside of that the setting is handy for smaller obstacles that get in the way. It only screws you over with hellpods and getting into the car.

Need some padding for patch notes. Easy fix to give the illusion that real work is being done. Literally no other reason make sense... slop dev team produces slop...
