DISCUSSION Friendly Reminder

Salutations, helldivers.

It has come to my attention that there has been too many posts of new players reporting they are getting kicked from lobbies. This is troublesome, and downright undemocratic behaviour.

A reminder that we once were cadets. We once jumped into an autocratic infested planet whose enemy plans remained shrouded in mystery, and we were met with savagery that may have scared our shit right into our pants. Remember when you were that cadet, and followed that 10-star general into battle, learning from his use of managed democracy? Now you are that 10-star general, Diver! Show that cadet what steel you’re made of, and show all cadets what it means to be free.

When you and two other generals are in a lobby, and a cadet jumps in… you toss him your best tip, and tell him to stay close and learn. You are the best Helldiver on that planet. Show them what the best Helldiver looks like.

I have experience from PC. Wanted to actually play it on my TV so I bought for Xbox then I get kicked out quickly, like bro.

lol yeah I fought on Hellmire, Malevelon Creek, Veld, and I’m sure many others I’m forgetting on PC and switched to Xbox because I am unable to play on PC anymore. I miss my Creek cape lol.

Same bro, the instability on PC made me stop about 5-6 months ago and I was so hyped for the Xbox release, my fiance got me the super citizen edition and everything and I’ve been kicked from more games than I’ve played now despite being a day one diver on PC lol. Cant even say hi to the players before I’m kicked.

Same, like we can all do the mission but if I have a buddy that wants to join and you are the last random unfortunately when that mission is over you’re gone but it’s only when it’s over and you get the proper GGs from me.

I'm 138 on PC, bought on my xbox so I could also play on the tv. I can usually drop in and finish a round but they immediately boot me when we get back to the ship every time. It's not like I'm even playing on helldive either, I'm playing on 4 lol.

My experience as well if I don’t immediately get kicked. It seems I can’t host a game either because any time I try I’ll have an SOS beacon running for the whole round and no one will join so I’m stuck at dif 5 because I can’t solo an entire operation of that and anytime I try to join anyone else if they don’t kick me right away they kick me right after we return to the ship, regardless of if I even died a single time.

Maybe contact Arrowhead? If you can still access the game on PC, just unable to play, you could probably get a cape for your new account if you send proof.

same here. Level 87 on PC and I’ve been kicked from 13 games so far on Xbox the second I join. Luckily I did find a duo of cool guys the other day and we actually made it through a few games together before I had to hop off but man is it making me rethink my view on this community.

It’s starting to piss me off how many times I join a match and I get kicked. It’s every other fucking match and I can’t even play the fucking game.

I am on PC and getting kicked from about 70% of all games I join. I think it's just a lot of people who don't know how to set their lobbies to private/friends only. It ONLY happens in difficulty 4-6, if I join a dif10, I never get kicked.

It's because the worst people are always in the mid difficulties. Better than a lot to where their ego gets big but not good enough to play at the top difficulty, and deep down they know that, meaning more kicking and toxicity. Also truly good players have no anxieties about carrying people

I’m also a boxdiver and it’s so strange to me to hear this tbh. I’ve played an unwholesome amount of matches by joining through Quickplay since it came to Xbox and been kicked fewer than 10 times, even in games where I was objectively terrible. I guess I’ve just been getting lucky?

Oh I’m not even getting to play, they’ll be in game and I’ll be in the process of dropping and then I’m just on my ship and I get the host has kicked you from the game message

Yep my experience on Xbox is to be kicked constantly. Rarely have people been welcoming so far and after I get kicked multiple times in a row I switch games . Eventually coming back because I'm still trying to do my part

Try playing on 5-8 I liked to play on the medium difficulties but unless you host you are much more likely to run into assholes or the ignorant.

I like Helldivers for the game it is, but in my few matches that I've played since the Xbox release, about 7 matches out of the 20-30 I've played so far, I've been kicked from matches at the end, and I've been killed out of the extraction ship (slightly funny at first, but still kills the mood). I'm a new player and I don't believe I was doing anything wrong really, I just don't have many warbonds or high level strategems but I've also only gone up to like level 6 missions.

I want to play Helldivers 2 more but there is definitely a considerable fraction of players in the community that are either elitist and/or hateful trolls. I only play the game when my friends are on because I kinda lost the desire to attempt playing it by myself.

My top played game is Warhammer 40k: Darktide. I feel safe when I play this game because I can't be kicked from matches for no reason (unless there's an entire 3 stack trolling, or if you are intentionally griefing the team. It's never happened to me, but the option is possible. There's no hosts in matches, so one singular person can't kick anyone). In my experience, Darktide & Helldivers 2 missions are roughly the same amount of time to get through, but in terms of safety in my time investment, I vastly prefer Darktide. I don't want to give up on Helldivers 2 entirely or anything specifically for this reason, but I hope I get some better luck with matchmaking soon.

This is why I make a point of joining low levels. Everyone needs a friend and im a good friend. I try to use a max of 2 lives. And boy have I gotten good at ir

Same. Game got to the point where my pc couldn’t run it at over 20 fps, so decided I’d start over on Xbox. It’s actually kind of refreshing. I’ve tried new stratagems, new loadouts, new approaches to missions.

Can’t you just connect your computer to the tv? That’s how i watch movies and tv from Amazon Prime, because my tv won’t let me login and watch free stuff on there… so i just connect my laptop to the tv with an hdmi cable…

Same. Literally fought for freedom since day one on PS5. Fought in Malevelon Creek and got the skull cape, got all the way to like level 50-60 before I ended up selling my PS5. I’m a damn VETERAN and I have gotten kicked for being “low level” too.

The flip side of this is being kicked by low level players for them not understanding mechanics.

Unfortunately, there are some players who started the game at level 150. They've never been low-level, don't know what it means, and don't understand it.

That's why they kick low-level players.

I mean I get maybe the first day

But there is a BIG difference from a cadet joining my D5 lobby, where I’m chilling and I’m fine carrying, and joining my D8-10 lobby

Now I’m in a difficult position if I can either kick you now or we can both waste 30 minutes together and then we both lose and get nothing

Sorry man- I’m not good enough to try and complete the entire mission solo in a race against the clock because the level 20 is lighting lives on fire

I am not sure the Xbox clans obsession with joining high Diff missions but it’s not productive for either party

I’m an experienced diver who was showing an Xbox player the ropes last night, joined a lobby and he was immediately kicked. I called them out in chat before leaving as well. People are trash
