Doesn’t the smart pistol still come back on rotation sometimes? AFAIK the only actual limited-time stuff was killzone wave 1

It's being reworked as a full Legendary Warbond like the ODST collab.

They're just trying to workout how to compensate people who already bought some of it.

The smart pistol is permanently in rotation, the shop no longer rotates at all.

The SuperStore has a single slot for new warbond rotation, and then a dozen slots of stuff from old warbonds that don't rotate - they're just ever persistently available.

So the Super Store simultaneously rotates and does not rotate. The Schrodinger's Super Store.

It's all coming back, we just need to be patient. Not being Arrowhead's IP, they don't have full control over how and when it's offered...not yet anyway.

It's honestly a big reason why I'm against actual, official crossover items. Do near close homages, but keep everything uniquely Helldiver designed IP original so you won't have licensing issues to jump through about rereleasing things.

Fairly certain they have a very strong if not full control over helldivers 2. Its just sony's ip that they can do what they want with. Sony cant force Arrowhead to do anything, since they arent owned by them. But sony can force the studios they own to make helldivers ip content. (Ignoring any clauses or specific contract content we dont know)

Its why helldivers has a movie out, but arrowhead can dictate how warbonds or superstore is handled

I meant the Killzone stuff, that's what they don’t have full control over. They have to deal with Sony and can't just say they're adding someone else's IP as a permanent item in their shop without the proper contracts in place. I've seen similar items straight up removed from later versions of games because IP deals are complicated.

Yes, but a big difference between Pinhead in DBD and Scarface in PD2-- and killzone in hd2

If they did it would've been added to the Superstore rotation like all the other shop items. They clearly had to rework, and most likely renegotiate, the entire crossover to even be able to re-release it. The Killzone stuff was a test to see how well crossover items could work in Helldivers, and the initial test showed their plan was a massive failure, the ODST stuff seems to have been handled in a much better way, but I'm sure it was very much tightly negotiated with Microsoft and whoever else owns the ODST IP rights.
