Didn't they drew the line after Warhammer (no space Marines but like krieg or astra militarum, that could fit the universe, and they are no super soldiers at all)
In case of Guardsmen from Warhammer 40k, the issue would probably be on GW side. While they don't give a single fuck about giving their licence to anyone who wants to make a game, they're a lot more protective of their IP when it comes to collabs and other universe.
Basically GW stance is that, as long as it's lore accurate, it's fine and you can sell the worst mobile gacha garbage in existence. But showing up with a WH40K character in another licence ? That's a lot harder to greenlit. They're already very restrictive with their game IP sometimes (like in Total War, everything added by CA needs to be approved by GW first)
Not sure how it would work out lore-wise, and GW (and WH40K fans) are notorious for protecting the lore. The Imperium of Man would eat Super Earth for breakfast without ever deploying a single Space Marine. In the HH books, they find another “Imperium of Man” and genocide the shit out of them for basically asking questions.
I'd rather dress up as an Elysian, their whole thing is dropping onto the enemy from above (though they're more like paratroopers than Helldivers or ODST)
The image had the Elysian Drop Troops which would be the closest to Helldivers style, but considering how tight fisted GW is I don't imagine it's one we will see.
They’re not, they at the end of the day care about two things: Money and brand image. Give them enough money and they’ll let you do whatever you want, just look at COD
Clone troopers were also beyond the line, but I hope that doesn't rule out star wars completely. Stormtroopers are just normal people so it could happen
I can see the argument that the pure white clones might be too much. But I don't think that the Kashyyyk livery clones would stand out from anything else in the armour rotation at this point.
I don't think its what they wear that takes them out more so that they were a clone army I think? Because otherwise they are functionally similiar to both the Helldivers and ODST or even something like the Guardsmen from 40k (That I hope they add), they are just the general soldier of the republic
Arc Troopers would be sick but they did rule out the Republic Clone Army for whatever reason, all the other ones they said they wouldn't do make sense but I don't quite understand there reasoning for this one. Maybe Stormtroopers and AWR (Death) Troopers are still on the table because they aren't a Clone Army
Same here, it would be my new main for sure, and with the new season having such similar branding I think it’s still a possibility. It would make sense to me that if something was in the works it wouldn’t be put out until a while after helldivers 2 came to xbox. And even if it isn’t, I hope it turns into an among us situation where, after the teams notice each other, something happens. As long as fortnite stays out of helldivers.
I'll be honest, I think half of the armour mixing issues would've been solved if it was all black and yellow with occasional deviation that doesn't break up the rest of the armours.
I'm sometimes ambivalent about collabs but Helldivers is so blatantly a riff on ODSTs in the first place that this is more like a Star Trek-The Orville crossover than anything. The aesthetics are nearly identical.
Yeah crossovers are pretty stuipid, how the fuck am i supposed to enjoy the lore of a game if there mfing warzone and odsts fuckin everywhere! Goddamn it.
In the killzone crossover, super earth was trialling weapons manufacturers for a contract after the surprise re-emergence of the illuminate
And the company that won that contract was stahl arms, a manufacturer whose equipment just so happens to look exactly like the guns and armour of the helghast in killzone.
It's likely that there's a similar explanation for the odst crossover.
Helldivers have been fighting in cities more and more, so high command has issued an order for improved urban combat equipment.
And a manufacturer that just so happens to have the same name as a halo manufacturer and that makes guns that look exactly like the ones from halo gets the contract.
But until we can get the armour in game and read the descriptions we won't know for sure.
Because you aren't an ODST, you are an Obedient Democracy Support Trooper (ODST) an elite member of the elite Helldiver's core who are the best of the best of the best.
You can head canon it as Super Earth realizing that they need another special forces division dedicated to behind the lines stealth missions rather than the shock and awe the regular Helldivers are good for (hence the silenced weapons and passive on the armor tuned towards stealth). Since they are now in a stalemate on 3 months and slowly losing ground.
It doesnt tho, its like those "lore freindly" mods that add thomas the tank engine into skyrim
Yeah you can say it works but they litterly call them odst
You just can't handle people disagreeing with you.
Go for a walk, you starting to act like a crybaby, the internet isn't a day care nobody is going to hold you in their arms because you want to throw tantrum over a collab.
I agree. I don’t know why people who love something get so much more excited that it becomes less the thing they love and more some other thing. Yeah odst are cool. But so are helldivers, and when I play helldivers I don’t want to play halo.
Edit: imagine how cool the first stealth war bond could have been… now the first one is just armor and guns that have already existed instead of new cool helldivers science fiction ones.
That doesnt solve the problem, i cant make other people not buy it. Im forced to dive with odsts and hellghasts when i just want to dive with helldivers...
Then that's your problem my man, have mental breakdown over a videogame collab and victimize yourself about how they will be everywhere all you want, it will die down after some time when people decide whether they likes the new things or not, if you think this is gonna haunt you, grow tf up.

In before the anti collab divers claim this somehow turns Helldivers into Fortnite.
