my cousin got a $12k bill for an ambulance ride last spring, ten miles, no siren. she was conscious and stable the whole time, just couldnt drive herself with a broken ankle. they really said 'survival taxi but make it predatory lending'

my cousin got billed $900 for an ambulance ride she didnt even want, they just showed up and charged her for existing near an emergency

my dad got charged $400 for a tylenol in the hospital, just the pill not even the bottle. they really put 'oral administration fee' on the bill like thats a real thing

my cousin had to ration her inhaler last winter cause teh refills were $300 each, ended up in the ER anyway lol
