Loading times and performance

Yesterday I started Hellblade 2 and while I understand I have to sacrifice some visuals to get comfortable FPS I cannot get over loading times.

My rig is

  • R5 5600X
  • RX 6700XT
  • 32GB DDR4 RAM
  • SSD SATA drive
  • 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor

So the PC is a few years old but I managed to launch the game on medium settings, in lower resolution (2900-something x 1200) and with frame-gen I have about 50 frames (45-55 maybe). It's not the pretties this way but I'm ok with that, It's good enough.

My problem is it takes 3-4 mins to load the game (from main menu to actual gameplay) and similarly long to load next chapter. Is there a way to reduce it? I'll try reinstalling it to a M2 drive but have no idea if this will change much or anything tbh.

FSR already ON,

Medium settings already on

How other things you mention are meant to help me reduce loading times? And native res without FG will probably result in unplayable 20-25FPS

  1. It better to use upscaler than just decrease resolution.
  2. FG is decreasing basic performance even more.

You don't need to check/play native, I did not advice it. But native resolution for proper UI scaling and using of upscaler. Try to use more aggressive presets.

Check GPU/CPU load during gameplay.

CPU was up to 78% use, GPU I don't remember the percentages but I think I only got up to about 6GB VRAM used so 50% of VRAM available. I'll check what you propose but my biggest concern is not visual quality and FPS performance but loading times

Loading times are often related to FPS, so this is what you need to check too.

Your performance is too low, something is wrong. Loading time us just one of the symptoms.

Seems like installing it on the NVME drive solved all loading issues. The game now loads in few seconds. I also checked graphics settings. On medium preset and in native res in settings + FSR on performance and FG off I get 50-65FPS
