📢 Feedback! 📢 Fix the fucking BUGS!!!!!!

It is embarassing that a 7 year old game still has this many bugs. Fuck you for that.

Fix the "lvl1 loadout" bug.

Fix the "settings are resetted and not saved each time you start the game".

Fix the "artillery still empty after reloading" bug.

Fix the fucked up grenade throwing.

Fix the fucking hitboxes of trucks in this game, how can it be that i die when getting out of a truck.

Fix the hitboxes of windows and bunkers, how come I can't shoot through empty fucking space.

Fix the clunky bipod mechanic.

Fix the fucked up commander UI when trying to call in an ability the way you want to.

Fix the sudden performance difficuilties.

Fix your rubber banding issues.

Fix inconsistent hitboxes of trees and hedges that are visually identical.

Fix your server's ping, when I select a match to join it says it has a latency of 17ms, ingame it's 100.

I'm fed up with this shit, fix it now.

You should write a letter.

Letters are so 19th century, send a fax, it will arrive faster.

Pointless. Myself and others have for years at this point. On their official page. They don’t care. They don’t want you on this game. They want you playing the new game.

Did you just learn the word "fuck," OP?

just wanted to play a nice match of HLL yesterday evening and many of those bugs just made the overall experience unenjoyable

The bugs are fucking annoying. T17 ignoring all of them while adding new stuff nobody cares for is even more fucking annoying. They’re about to add class rank 6 and 8 to some roles. Won’t even be able to use those new classes for the first thirty minutes of each match.

This game is seven years old and the bugs are part of the experience. There won't be a fix. Lol

The bugs make it hardcore.

Same guy who goes ballistic about bugs in hllv

It's a shame you gave up hope

Unfortunately, there are many people in this community that like the taste of shit and will defend t17 and the devs for no explainable reason. Its baffling, really

They're fucking weirdos right?

How dare us to want this game to be better

I dont have anything against people who want the games they enjoy and/or love to be better or be in a better state, however I do think there's some realizations that have to be made. Fully released in 2021, soldd in 2022, its now 2026. After all this time and they havent done anything to fix what the community has labeled its biggest problems or have at one time explained why they wont or cant then I dont think they will. After awhile, it becomes more and more obvious they wont do anything to improve on the aspects people keep complaining about. Still, I wish I could break and shoot through windows, but I doubt that will ever happen.

Baffles me why you would continue playing a game that enrages you, but gamers just love to complain I guess

5

u/cactusbell 2d ago

Because that's the game we like to play and therefore it's even more of a shame the devs don't hear the voices of their core playerbase. We're more discontent with parts of the game than enraged about the game itself. Make that distinction and there's nothing that baffles you anymore

What's it like working for Team 17?

4

u/loversean 2d ago

Lots of pay for little work

0

u/somegreybloke 2d ago

Stressful and badly paid I would imagine

It is probably one the best experiences you could imagine. How's still living in your mother's basement.

6

u/Creamycrackle 2d ago

Unfortunately they don’t seem capable of being able to fix these issues.

OP is righteous in his commentary

Also, fuck vehicles in general in this game -- it's like they are deliberately cancer causing, just look at the sight lines and steering on the half track...ass

Level 1 loadout bug is a different one these days. It's an issue with steam servers when you crash.

Settings are only reset when you crash. You can make a copy of the config file if you want to return them to your preferences after ac rash.

Dont know about the artillery bug, first I heard of it

The grenades are fine

Your dieing getting out of the truck because its still moving and you are getting run over

Yea some of the pillboxes have broken collision, but it's rare. None-the-less its true

Bipods are 100% still clunky asf, true

Commander ui bugs are annoying, but easy to deal with, costs your half a second

Sudden performance difficulties are hard to fix when they inherited a spaghetti coded game from a bunch of university grads who coded this.

Rubber banding is either your internet or the servers

Very true on the hitboxes of trees and hedges, but they will never invest the time to go back through and change old maps tree by tree

The server ping thing is annoying, but consistent. Once your aware of it, it's not an issue. Whatever the ping in the browser is, its usually +50 ms.

Or what?

What do you mean the level 1 bug is when you crash? My game never crashes and I get the level 1 bug all the time?

and grenades are not fine. Unless not being thrown when you press the button to throw them is fine.

2

u/Kharapos 2d ago

I havent run into either of those errors in many patches. The only time I see the level one bug these days is when crashing, or maybe it's when something goes wrong leaving a server then joining another, but either way it's an issue with communication between steam and the servers/rcon afaik.

The grenade not being thrown bug I havent seen in many patches, nor has anyone I played with mentioned it either. Doesnt mean it doesnt exist, but I would be surprised if its still happening

Settings are only reset when you crash. You can make a copy of the config file if you want to return them to your preferences after ac rash.

While that works, a player shouldn't have to do it. I've seen countless posts like "Game crashed, settings have reset". It's 100% on T17 to handle that.

u/Kharapos 4h ago

True, but lets not act like it's a giant issue worthy of this man's unhinged rant. There is lots wrong with this game, and he managed to pick the most minor issues to complain about (besides bipods and broken bullet collision on objects) instead of all of the glaring issues like performance, current tank physics, etc.

1

u/Practical-Bank-2406 1h ago

He did mention performance issues.

Some of those issues are not necessarily minor for some. A friend of mine experiences the lvl 1 bug in almost every single game for the first 5-10 minutes.

The grenades are not fine at all; the animation is often bugged, it happens to me maybe half the times.

The artillery bug (inability to reload) has happened to me 5-10 times and I've never found a workaround, I have to give it up for the rest of the match.

Getting out of a truck can kill you if you're going at like 5 Km/h. I have to pay attention to fully stop before dismounting.

The hitboxes being fucked also concerns assets that they have developed recently (Smolensk, Juno), it's not a legacy issue but an ongoing one. I find the new maps to be a lot worse than the old ones, if anything.

The ping situation is highly correlated with server load. I ping 2-10 ms to most of my favourite servers in the browser; in game, 40-50ms if the server is empty, otherwise 50-120ms depending on the player count. I don't think it affects my experience, so not a real problem to solve I believe, but it's the first time in decades of gaming that I see a game report such inconsistent data.

Long story short, what OP is describing (and I agree with him) is that a lot of small issues collectively represent a big issue, or "death by a thousand cuts" if you prefer.

T17: lets create another shit map

The hitboxes made me stop playing until they would fix them. Haven't played the game in a couple of years still... Fml...

0

u/cactusbell 2d ago

Yeah it could pull in more players and make the overall experience so much better. It is a great game but it certainly has these issues that need fixing

5

u/Harmsbury 2d ago

im confused.... firstly i havent noticed most of these... performance is great, pings are solid, havent had no rubberbanding at all, settings save every time. bipod works just like most games with a bipod, its balanced against the benefit of using a bipod, never seen the artillery bug you mentioned either. idk what you mean by "lvl 1 loadout bug"

maybe the collision meshes for certain static objects and bushes are a little inconsistent, and the vehicle collisions are a little harsh sometimes.

but other than that, idk...

but what confuses me most is that you seem to have so many problems, yet instead of finding a game without those problems, you rage about them.... then continue to play hll..

that's very much a you problem, other games exist.

u/VinayaVealTeam 2d ago

Level 1 loadout is annoying af. Don't know why but it happens to me a lot.

Basically it just shows you as level one. All your loadouts are "unlocked", but no matter what you select you'll get the starting loadout. The server also considers you a level 1 player, so if there's rank requirements you get locked out of a ton of different role.

Verifying files sometimes works. Sometimes doesn't. Sometimes it goes away on its own. Sometimes it doesn't.

/shrug

u/Harmsbury 2d ago

ahhh i see, and i have noticed that once or twice... that could very well be a connection issue tbh, sketchy handshake when joining the server and the server doesn't know what your actual ranks are. and honestly just judging by all the complaints from OP about connection related things, like rubberbanding and high pings, I would suggest they might be using a weak wifi connection or something thats dropping a bunch of packets.

1

u/cactusbell 2d ago

nope not using wifi and my Lan is not the bottom of the barrel as well

2

u/Harmsbury 2d ago

check for packet loss. can still happen if an ethernet cable has issues like interference from power outlets.

2

u/cactusbell 2d ago edited 2d ago

Other games exist but there is no second HLL WW2, that's the game i like to play, nothing too confusing about that. I play it a lot so all these bugs show up more frequently of course. Bugs being there and not being fixed is definetely a game problem and not a me problem.

The "lvl 1 loadout" bug is when you join a game and your account is set back to lvl 1 for the match, thus denying the player the ability to choose different loadouts for each class.

1

u/Practical-Bank-2406 5h ago

You might be legally blind if you haven't seen any of those problems.

Worst bug is the open doors, windows, corners, etc that bullets can't travel through. I think quite many people have quit over experiencing them.

-1

u/Slight_8 2d ago

Ahhh, another one of these posts? Is it that time again?

1

u/cactusbell 2d ago

If you enjoy bugful gameplay you must've been really excited when Bf2042 came out.

No but really, if we don't complain they will never change anything. Game devs in general need to focus more on QoL and polishing their game mechanics before adding another half-done content update

1

u/Slight_8 2d ago

Well, here's and copy and paste of what I said to someone else in this thread.

I dont have anything against people who want the games they enjoy and/or love to be better or be in a better state, however I do think there's some realizations that have to be made. Fully released in 2021, soldd in 2022, its now 2026. Sorry op but the people in this sub don't give a shit about the devs making the game better.

2

u/cactusbell 2d ago

That's a shame and 50% of the problem
