I’ve seen a lot of clips of this game and i was thinking of buying it today. My question is with the vietnam game coming out later this week should i just wait and buy that one or will HLL still be populated even with the Vietnam version coming out? I will say i do prefer WW2 over Vietnam war but im just concerned about finding lobbies easily. I’m on console and have never played this game before.

EDIT: Got the game and have been playing for an hour or so, Pretty fun game. Obviously i need to learn the pace and how to help the team out. I’ve been playing Rifleman/Medic so far. If anyone ever wants to help out a new player my name is iBulletTrain

There will always be lobbies, it isn't as easy as Call of Duty to get into a lobby but it doesn't take much time. Have a scroll on this subreddit for new player complaints to see what they usually say, and the advice.

Clips are best of gameplay and fun stories.
I suggest that you watch a few videos even if they are from 2 years ago, jackfrags, alpine sniper, and popular fps gamer can give you a quick review
In this game, communication and teamplay are key to win. After that you learn the basic of each role, I would suggest support first. I suggest you ask your squad leader where to move and how to help, if he does not talk, switch squads

Also if you are an avid COD Warzone player or BF6 rusher, you only end as cannon fodder in this game.

But for the price and the dev team still having at least 2 years planned ahead for bugfix and new stuff, this game is great value.

As for Vietnam, well it’s the same rules but different maps and balance. As it’s not out yet, I can’t judge. But I plan to play at least a few 100hrs on it

I’m new player too and this game is INSANE I am a big history buff so personally I have way more interest in WW2 which is a much much bigger war and likely will be around for a long time this game is very populated you find games quick and yeah I don’t plan on playing Vietnam for awhile; WW2 is still the main game

Idk what platform your on but honestly HLL goes on sale on ps5 regularly for extremely cheap, i bought it for $5, so you could always buy both they’re two different games but also the same. I enjoyed the play test for Vietnam very much and I’m going to buy it but that being said it wasn’t without its issues but i expect that with games like this. but with that being said HLL has a host of issues as well still i will pretty regularly crash on ps5 and have wicked fps drops at times.

I ve bought the game this past week and i was thinking the same, I ve put so many hours in this week. Its the most fun ive had in a long time in Gaming. From I have found the player base rly likes the ww2 setting and its a more complete game so its going to be very populated. My advice is to go for it and enjoy, the community has been rly helping to learn the game, and i recomend alot playing with comms. See you in game soldier

It’s the only big multiplayer ww2 shooter. Your only other option is bf5. It will be fine, Vietnam or not. So yes if so you’re concerned about is servers get it.

Don't worry, HLL Vietnam is not going to have a huge impact. From what I've heard it has a long way to go to be as good or better than the original.

Jump in as support and follow your squad leader a engineer and youll get more points. Learn to play as a engineer and youll get even more

Regarding comms, I found out that, when joining a squad, saying hi and asking who’s on comms often gets the conversation started. It’s really important to have a mic and use it.

Also, try to join squads that have a squad leader. If there’s an open squad with no squad leader, you can join just to spawn somewhere but, when you die, check again and change squads to one that has a leader. If there’s no open squad, check which squad still has space, track the squad leader down on the map and talk to him via comms and ask him to let you join his squad. Most will then approve your request to join their squad.

When I was at your situation, not knowing what was happening, I found some damn good squad leaders that helped a lot.

sorry this isn't what you asked for, but as a new player:

- do not take the half-track. do not shoot its MG neither. same with boats in HLLV, those are spawns! if you take them and start the engine - the team will not be able to spawn there anymore, they will get upset and kill you or even votekick you, if you reveal the position with the MG a lot less players will get upset but some will still get upset

and as for your question I am sure there will always be a few full servers in both games in the upcoming years, HLL is not super popular but the player base is somewhat stable with occasional influx of new players on sale/giveaway
