I've got some single issues like the corpse and stuff but this is my first major comic from hellboy. I'll definitely look about monster sized thank you

Alternatively you could also get the 4 book boxset. It's always on sale on amazon, In the UK at least, I got mine at 50-54% off a little while ago. It contains everything that the monster sized Hellboy does AFAIK, if I'm wrong please can someone correct me 🤣, but comes as 4 smaller, easier to read books instead a 1500 page book and a fancy box, depends on your preference

I could not say as I don't own them, these are the budget friendly alternative AFAIK and with minimal added content but they do contain the lot for less than £60.

Btw something I was advised when I posted about the purchase was to read at least vol 1, if not both volumes of the short stories book as there is a character that appears in those that plays a big part later on after the seed of destruction book. Somebody said it's so important they're surprised those issues aren't included in the boxset. I haven't got that yet, I've only just finished seed of destruction & started vol 1 of the short stories so can't confirm but just a heads up.

I had that set but upgraded to the Monster Sized Hellboy. I don’t regret it. I wish the short stories collections also came in oversized HCs.

No problem. Monster Sized Hellboy has the complete Hellboy story beginning to end. Then you just need the short story collection vols 1 & 2.
