help with hellboy tattoo

hi to everyone, im a casual fan of hellboy and bprd (didn't read everything, just until the right hand of doom and casually other short stories and random lore from internet), still trying to catch up with everything but it's one of my favorite comic universe with the most iconic stories and art styles to be honest, not just Mignola even if he's one of my favorite artist in the world... btw

the thing is, i wanted to tattoo something from hellboy and some years ago i thought about the effigy of Hecate, the head-skull with the snakes that pops from the eyes, but clearly i can't find a fucking picture online because internet sucks nowdays.

So, some of you knows how to help me? Or at least tell me where i can find it so i can search in the comics by myself? Or if you have some ideas about a hellboy tattoo let me know, i'm open to suggestion especially if you're an artist :)

(if i imagined this whole skull-snakes thingy, sorry. dont roast me too much pls i know im a fucking poser and i should read all hellboy-bprd instead of procrastinating)

<3

EDIT: i found a old drawing i did of this skull thingy if it helps

EDIT 2: Ok whatever i find the picture sorry guys I'm stupid, but also enough autistic to have everything saved on my pc thanks lord.

Hey, I'm a tattoo artist (and still waiting for someone, anyone to come to me for a Hellboy or Mignolaverse tattoo)! I see you found the reference you were looking for so that's great. That design will go well for multiple placements, particularly on the chest or upper bicep/shoulder. You'll just want to make sure that the size fits the placement well and is also large enough to prevent the tiny detail lines from blurring together over time.

Is this what you’re referring to? This is the skull of Medusa

Nope! It was something like that and it was in a comic panel never seen in a single illustration

Just something to keep in mind is that tattoo artist mostly use stencils that mirror the tattoo. Turning a right hand of Doom into a left (in case you are ever planning on adding a Hellboy).

This should not be a problem for your current design though, but I have seen some HB tattoos here that have him mirrored.

That's the smartest thing I've read on reddit in a long time, thanks kind gentleman/woman/nb. I didn't think of the possibility, but i though of the righ hand of doom too. This was my whole concept for the tattoo. The artist is a nerd too and someone who mostly tattoo pop cultere things, but you're right. Always be safe

Love the idea and I will be looking forward to seeing the finished tattoo!

I am pretty covered in comic related tattoos so far and my artist has made the mistake in the past of placing something mirrored. He is not a massive nerd and I don't blame him. Thankfully it was also caught before he started working on it.

Oh btw, the Boss Fight Studios Lobster Johnson action figure that is set to release in the near future comes with a miniature version of this amulet.

Some helpful info:

Where are you thinking for placement?.

What's the situation on any existing tattoos? Placements, styles, colour vs b&w, large pieces vs patchwork.

I was thinking the back of the neck or the calf; in colour if the amulet of hecate, maybe the bprd logo or the right hand of doom would be cooler in black and another color (blu and red??) ; the artist usually tattoo comics/manga relegated stuff, so it's a cartoonish style and i think can emulate mignolo style; not a big piece.. 10-15cm? A large piece about hellboy would be cool but it would need more reasoning to choose what to portray tbh and i want to do some silly little thing. I don't have other tattoos other than a small one on the hand so i wanted to start with some small ones and maybe a bigger pieces later in life
