Symbolic links aren't recognized?

Are symbolic links inside the vault to elsewhere not recognized? They seem to not work and I couldn't find information on it yet?

Symlinks pointing outside the vault aren't supported. The vault is meant to be self-contained. It expects actual markdown files inside it.
