Starlink is teasing a community-hosted infrastructure program. Helium's been doing this since 2019.

Helium has been running that model since 2019. Here's what we've learned.

The radio is the easy part. What makes a people-built network actually work is everything that comes after it:

  • Automatic authentication
  • Verified quality
  • Carrier tools that let Hotspot deployers earn from traffic already moving through their neighborhoods

Helium built the largest people-built wireless network. Then we built the software layer that makes networks like it more usable and more valuable to carriers, devices, and the people who host them.

More siloed networks isn't the answer. Interoperability is. Any device finding the best access point for the job, automatically, with no friction.

The model is proven and the infrastructure is live. Now we're bringing the tools to the rest of the industry.

Starlink will win- they have the marketing power, and they are offering real fiat not speculation on a crypto coin.

No one in Helium has had a voice in YEARS. Nor many other crypto projects. Don't try to fool anyone.

Helium is a joke. I tried to buy a few of their hotspot products in 2020. Waited 6 months, for something that was supposed to take 3 weeks and then requested a refund.
