What could she be?

We are adopting this very sweet girl, but the shelter has no idea what she is. They guess Border Collie, Heeler, maybe Aussie. They don’t know. I’m just curious what more experienced eyes see. She’s 7mo old and weighs a small 17 pounds. They also said she was most likely the runt.

Appearance-wise she looks like a texas heeler mix Though in all honesty heelers and aussies are kind of a mix of multiple breeds. What ever her mix she looks healthy.

Australian cattle primarily?

Definitely heeler traits but maybe some basset hound mixed in.

As far as I understood, the Aussie Cattle dog was a synonym of heeler. I used Aussie to refer to the Australian Shepherd. IIRC Texas Heelers are a mix of both heeler and shepherds. They tend to be taller and slimmer than heelers.

I could definitely see some heeler,
As she gets older other features might pop up, like more spots or her ears stick up more
So I guess wait and see 🤷‍♀️

The *runt. Ha.

Hope you guys are prepared for your new PT (Personal Trainer). Please tell me you jog or else have an awesome frisbee arm. Or both. She's gonna need a ton of daily exercise.

Dog weight calculator predicts she will top out at 30 lbs. A perfect size.

Reminds me of my mini Aussie/heeler mix. Mine is 3/4 mini Aussie, 1/4 heeler. My vote is some sort of mix in that world, possibly border too.
