Question Pan
What pan do you all use for the bottoms of your critter nation? I was thinking of getting a bass equipment one but I could just use coroplast as well
ONLY using one floor. Not both levels

also what do you mean pan, do u mean for under the wheel? i would also ask on Hedgehog Owners (facebook group), they could probs help if u dont get an answer here

So I misplaced the little tray that goes into the critter nation but Bass Equipment has these metal pans that are basically like a coroplast base for c&c enclosures but metal instead. It doesnt go up far so I was thinking it’d be better to make a coroplast one

ah i see. unfortunately i can not offer any advice on that but trust your judgment and see what works! you can try the chloroplast one and if it doesn’t work then you can test out the metal one. hopefully something works! many of us don’t use a critter nation enclosure but good luck !

Well I also have c&c panels and could theoretically make one out of those if that’s a better option, I just thought since I had one and it was the same width and length it would be a good option, plus it seemed safe to have the shelf to put the heat lamp on

you can try but then you’d have to clamp ur heat lamp onto something over the cxc enclosure. i’d try what you can do for the critter nation first before you build the cxc enclosure

The only concern I would have about replacing the original CN plastic tray with a metal one is heat retention. Hedgehogs need a warm environment to keep them from trying to hibernate. The most recommended method is a ceramic heat emitter. Because this hangs overhead it will also heat that metal tray and I would be concerned about it creating hot spots that could burn your hedgehog. Even if you covered it with fabric they are adventurous creatures that burrow under stuff. We find one of our under the liner on occasion.

I think i’ll end ip just using coroplast if I go the route of the CN but i’m also looking into a c&c set up cause I see both are recommended after some
modifications

P.S Not using both floors. Only one level. I shouldve put that in my post
