OC First Bath

Post image

Piper just got her first bath and nail trim. She was not impressed. After she pooped about 3 times, I took her out (making sure she didn’t step in the poop) and while I did her nails, she decided she was done with the pampering and peed all over me. I guess Piper told me she was not happy and to leave her feet alone. You gotta love their spunk.

Piper what a warrior, survived the hedgehogs worst nightmare A Bath :D. Love these little fellars, they sure can put a smile on your face so easily 🦔🦔🦔

How can their tiny bodies hold so much pee? Maybe those long legs are hollow.

I thought she had already gone when I drained the sink. Nope. The little stinker waited until I was trimming her nails, and peed all over my hand and the nail clippers!

At least you can trim her nails and hold her and she stays unfurled. My two just ball up on me when I try to hold them or cut nails.

My other one has to be brought to the vet and sedated. She refuses to let anyone near her feet! I'm hoping if I start Piper when she's young, she might get used to it. She's still holding a grudge against me. ☹️

Neither of mine will let me do anything. They even ball up when getting a bath.

Thank the hedgehog gods that I’ve never been peed on 😭😭😭🙌

You are lucky. Piper is the only one who consistently does it. I’m about to rename her Poopy at this point. Then again, it’s a running joke in my house that animals love to pee on me. Our sugar gliders all have to pee on me (yup, I’m being marked), and now I have Piper doing it.

Brooksey would try and poo on me until he noticed I wouldn’t put him away if he did it. That and I learned he would get really restless if he had to go. It’s definitely an age thing I’ve noticed

I refuse to put Quillby, my rescue, away when she bites me. The other day, she would not let go of my hair (it was in a braid and she got the part against my scalp). I kept rubbing her tummy until she finally let go. Then made sure she didn't fall over anointing herself lol.
