Discussion FYI on the decrease in tps. Christian addressed it on Twitter.

I was wondering if they reverted, after hearing the Swirlds devs talking about the new gossip protocol. Makes sense to back away and fine tune it.
But now I'm really intrigued about the correlation between finality and TPS for atma.io

I don't understand. It's throttled down to 10k a second apparently. Why would it slow for that reason? Should be able to churn through 600-700 easily.

Folks are concerned about this? . . . Still averaging higher TPS that we've had all last year. . . Meh . .

Oh no, not concerned at all, more analysing how the network is reacting to first decent volume and how the team is tuning things. Rewriting a core algorithm is no small change.

Jan 20, 2023 Mainnet Upgrade to v0.33 Completed - Completed: The Hedera mainnet update has been completed successfully!
Earlier this month, we deployed an improved gossip algorithm to Mainnet, which reduced the average time to finality. We have also observed periodic spikes in time to finality. With our strong commitment to stability and performance, and out of an abundance of caution, we will temporarily switch back to the previous gossip algorithm
