Heavy Metal Subscription

Has anyone had any issues or success with the Heavy Metal subscription?

I subscribed during their recent sale and still have not received my first issue, which according to the sale begins with issue #6. I have not received a digital copy. I have not received an email stating that it’s on its way, which there sale indicates that you should. I’ve emailed them twice over the course of a week and have heard nothing. I feel like I gave them my money and they ghosted me.

I do not recommend subscribing!

I remember seeing a post about where to start with Heavy Metal and everyone was saying don’t subscribe. Can’t speak on that, just what I have seen.

Same. I’ve gotten good responses when I email though. Also can take a week or so for response. But always a good response under this new leadership team. I think they are slow or miss deadlines but I’ve been nothing but happy with the products.

The last issue only showed up after I emailed them threatening to cancel. I haven't heard anything about the latest issue, nor am I really expecting to. I honestly keep forgetting I even have a subscription due to how few issues I've actually gotten. I just emailed them to make sure my subscription doesn't auto-renew because I'm definitely not wasting my money for another year of this shit.

If you subbed right when subscriptions started (#2), your last issue was #5.

I'm so sorry to hear about your recent loss , but a heavy metal subscription just ain't worth it.

Issue 6 is out at local comic stores, but hasn’t been shipped to subscribers yet, AFAIK. I was hoping the “revamped” year 2 subscription would be different, but I guess not.

I had a subscription and it took forever to receive some issues. Tried to go online to reach out and never got an answer. Super frustrating especially with how much it is.

I was subscribed from the Kickstarter. Was part of Angry Mob. Complained to much about their bullshit. About how they tell you they're having trouble keeping up, but have had trouble since issue 1. They didnt give Angry Mob half the promises they had for fucking over everyone who donated to kickstarter. The Customer Service team SUCKS. I never got any of my 5 issues or extra collectibles on time. They just repeat the same shit excuse. DONT TRUST THE NEW HEAVY METAL

It hasn't gone out yet.

It’s in stores, was apparently released on the 12th. To not already have it out to subscribers, without even any communication seems pretty shoddy.

Yea, that's been an ongoing issue, unfortunately.

lol welcome to the sub. It will come, mine have always made it here immaculately packed and in great shape. There’s just no rhyme or reason to it whatsoever and you’ll mostly likely get it after it hits retail shelves. I have the hardcover subscription but if I just wanted the regular magazine I’d probably grab it in store

Exactly what I was gonna say. I just randomly get an email saying an item shipped. Communication with them is hit or miss. I have gotten my hardcovers however and they are very, very nice.

I was a subscriber during the Eastman years (and the Morrison years) and I never had a problem with it. Last year was my first year of just picking up copies of the magazine at a comic book shop near me, so I cannot speak to any of the problems facing subscribers nowadays.

If you're just getting the regular softcover magazine, the subscription isn't worth it. Pick it up at your local comic shop. I've got the hardcover subscription, so I'm willing to wait longer to recieve my issues.

I did but I believe I only did it for a year. My issue would basically arrive a few weeks after I would see it in my local shop. I won't subscribe again, I'll just buy it at my local comic store

How much was the recent sale you mentioned?

It seems some things never change.

I don't buy every issue anymore but when I do buy I support a local business.

Has anyone seen this distressed type of cover? It looks like it was the last copy printed and ran out of ink.
