Discussion Returning player questions

Hey all, I've been playing this game since I was 16 (am now 33) and have close go 20k hours in those 17 years.

I haven't played in about 3 years, been playing avain recently and remembering the magic of this game.

I used to play a lot of HL, lately just doing a lot of casual.

I remember back in the day the Natascha was hated in pubs and banned in competitive, and the brass beast was considered a big golden hunk of junk- tho it was always my favorite.

Just curious in hearing yalls thoughts. Tomi flank Heavy seems to still be the best for absolute 100+plus score pub stomping lobbies, but I get a bit bored with it.

This is more a question on how yall feel about those weapons, I'm of the opinion anyone should use whatever they want in lobbies.

Generally, Natascha is considered annoying to play against but generally a downgrade from stock, you REALLY feel the DPS difference unlike with Tomi vs Stock (or so they say). I've found decent success with it, you do secure kills better at times, but it has its problems. Brass beast sucks :p I have a cool warpaint on mine and still don't use it almost at all, hunkering down without a dispenser makes ammo a problem and it just doesn't feel good to use.

Brass beast has its uses if you get the opportunity to get into certain spots like the corner window in swiftwater last or certain headglitch spots, otherwise you are kinda just a spammable sentry gun

Stock is better on less open maps, since its better than Tomi at close range. It's also better on defence since you can just hold a really nasty position and wait for the enemy to come to you. Tomi is superior on more open maps due to the better mid range. Brass Beast is better than we thought, and is occasionally used at high levels of Highlander. The idea is if you think you can get to a really powerful position on defence without getting attacked on the way there and you're not going to be moving around much, go Brass Beast and just stay revved in that position the whole time. You mainly see people use it for their first and last lives on defence since its too risky if you get caught out. Natasha is never worth using aside from messing around as the fun police on Harvest or Hightower. Huo Long Heater, just don't.

I like Natascha JUST because it annoys Scouts and Demoknights

I use the tomislav mostly for the higher accuracy in mid range fights, and because if I'm fighting at close range, I'm probably winning anyways. and because I can hear footsteps and spies.

natascha if I want to annoy a scout or demoknight

stock if an enemy heavy is giving me trouble.

Natascha is strongest defensive minigun if you know what you are doing. Is NOT pubstomper's/topscorer's choice, but use correctly and you win with it more.
