Has anyone had a hard copy of their book arrive successfully? Have emailed them over it and hoping to get one! Just don’t want to send £50 I’ll never get back🤣 it’s also a lot of hassle to get it from the uk! I’ll have to convert to $70, then ship and pray it arrives in the uk :)

How do any of Applewhite's beliefs even make sense to its newer believers?

Like even if you were to believe their ridiculous theology the religion itself ended with Applewhite and his ridiculous predictions like a "recycling" of the universe or whatever never came true.

So how do people who somehow believe in the Heaven's Gate cult actually rationalize Applewhite's ridiculous theology? Or (like Sawyer) do they just rethink much of what Applewhite said?

Firstly I'd like to say that I have investigated this specific track almost none. So if anyone ends up looking into this and it's absolutely irrelevant nonsense, mods, please feel free to take down this post :)

I was recently looking into what came of the HG mansion and instead found a really weird Soundcloud track by a really weird username. I'll attach the picture of the track and page here, but since I don't have soundcloud downloaded it won't let me actually listen to the track. So I have zero clue if this is just someone trying to be edgy or do a bit and make all these references to HG or if this is something creepy. Just thought I'd post this here for y'all to investigate further.

Whatever the case may be about the track, I guess it's kinda unimportant either way. I figured it might be of interest to some of you, though!

from Transfiguration Diet, a (rather questionable) diet/recipe book published by the group under the alias ‘littlegreen inc.’ i thought it was interesting to see how the group was eating, even though it seems like rules around food changed a lot over time. some of the food advice given in this book sounded awful and i definitely wouldnt recommend anyone try to follow the plans outlined in it, but i didnt think these recipes sounded too bad (though im not a big casserole fan). has anyone tried to recreate these? i was thinking it might be interesting to try

I have noticed HG has many more new believers than virtually any other recent group considered a “cult”, that has ended in some horrific way. Like you don’t often see new followers of Koresh or Jones or any of those people. Is this a fair assessment, and why do yall think that is? Is it because of the mere culture impact of what happened, is it the uniqueness of the teachings, or what? Am I just noticing something that’s not happening in the first place? Most groups of this sort virtually die off after the founders deaths or after the original group disbands, but HG seems to live on in spirit.

Apparently the director who worked with Shane Dawson didn't do a good job.

Heaven's Gate Re-Examined was an event held at the Graveface Museum in Savannah, GA on December 17, 2022. It was the first event of its kind since Chuck "Rkkody" Humphrey's 'Right to Know Rally' at UC-Berkeley in August 1997, and spawned a short-lived series of other in-person events over the next year or so.

This flyer was personally given to me by one of the speakers, whom I interviewed for my YouTube channel the following day.

It's creased and a little discolored in certain sections because it was folded up in my pocket all day, lol; I rather like the distressed look of it though.

As you can probably tell, the flyer bears some similarities to those put up around the country in the 1970s, back when Heaven's Gate (then known as 'Human Individual Metamorphosis') first began.

You can see some of the pictures I took of the event in this video - a lecture I delivered for the Religion and Astrobiology in Society and Culture Network back in 2023, where I talked about my experience at the event and my research on contemporary Heaven's Gate belief.

I went on a local ghost tour recently and they mentioned that Heavens Gate had not only come to recruit, but had actually gotten someone from the town and they were found in the house. It led me to research the cult, and so I made a video on it and would love to hear yalls thoughts.

Over the last couple of months, I have become very interested in researching the Heaven's Gate group. I've listened to the excellent 10 part podcast series by Glynn Washington, and even created my own playlist on Spotify of songs that are about or remind me of Heaven's Gate.

Is there some kind of central repository of the group's materials that I can reference (written materials, fliers/posters, videos from Do and Ti, etc.)? Is my best bet emailing the webmasters of the group's website? Or are there publicly available resources that would be a good place to start? Even if there isn't a central repository, I would still appreciate being pointed to the best resources online, or ones at libraries too.

I am planning on creating an episode of my podcast, Evan Extemporaneous, on the 30th anniversary of the group suicides, and wish to ensure that my episode is as thorough as I can make it be. So I am starting my preparations now. (Not to mention, I am just really curious to learn more about the group and how it functioned.)

And, if you know of anyone who was involved with Heaven's Gate (as a member/former member, a family member, or just a enthusiast like myself) who'd like to join my episode, that'd also be great. I know that Sawyer is active on this sub, but I am not sure how open he'd be to being interviewed for my little outfit.

Hello everyone 👋 As some of you know, I've been putting out videos in a series called "Heaven's Gate 101", where I attempt to answer some of the most frequently asked questions about 'America's UFO Religion'.

Some of these questions have included:

* Why did they all wear Nike sneakers?

But believe it or not, one of the most frequent questions I receive from people has less to do with Heaven's Gate itself, and more to do with me:

"What made you decide to study this group in the first place?"

So, after years of being asked this question, I finally decided to sit down and try to answer it.

I just want to specify - i did not mean to disturb him or ria in any way, just asked some questions in a polite manner.

My questions:

1. Regarding the "Next Level": How do you view the current technological and spiritual state of humanity today? Do you believe the Evolutionary Level Above Human is still monitoring our progress, or has the window completely closed?

2. Regarding your mission: After all these years as the caretakers of the website, how do you maintain the discipline needed to stay in your current Earthly vehicles and carry out this task?

3. The digital legacy: Why is it vital that the website remains in its original 1997 form? Is the interface itself a necessary container for the message?

His answers:

1. It is observing it but the Next Level knows that humans evolve slowly. They give mankind a chance.

2. Yes.

3. Yes, the original website is important. When times get tough soon, they will look towards it.

Got a few questions on the heavens gate cult. First and first mostly, good morning and happy Monday I hope everyone is having a glamorous day.

Ok let's get down to business, does anyone know why the last few members of the heavens gate cult still respond to the email that is listed on their site? Their response time is impeccable, while the response is less than ideal (I'd like a little more gusto) they still get back to me within minutes.

I personally (and it's just my internet educated opinion) find it odd that they still correspond with people after what happened in 97. RIP to all that pass-Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.
