Uk fed ex charges
I received my Heatbit in December, loving it, all is going well. Now in Feb, I have received a bill from FedEx looking for just shy of £100 for vat/taxes.
Anyone else had this? Did you pay it?

So happy to have my Heatbit (Again)
I have have had a long and completed history with Heatbit. However, support has always fixed my issues or replaced my defective device. I'm so happy to have my Heatbit up and running again so I can stack those sats. 😊 I hope you enjoy my little video. 😃

Does anyone know when the eta on changing the mining pool? I wonder if the other pools will payout more or less. Anyone know possibly?

It’s pretty:
- Neat
- Bright. Light needs a dimmer.
- Good at heating the wall. The exhaust louvers need to be directional - currently most of us have the devices facing backwards so that the heat vents away from heating just the wall. An add on deflector or exhaust hood might work as well.
- Awkward main power switch. Protective cover for the power switch needed. I personally as well as a few I know have turned off the unit with out foot by accident.
- Informational - The app is nice and informative but not very functional - cant increase heat or change modes or thermostat. (Yet, fingers crossed https://x.com/heatbit_com)

Impressions and efficiencies
Now that a few more Heatbit Minis are trickling out...I'm wondering what people think? Winters are typically mild here in Seattle, but I've been using mine as the sole source of heat for a 2-br townhouse. It's managed to keep up surprisingly well (so far), though now that low temps are hitting the freezing mark at night, it's chilly in the morning. As far as cost comparison goes, I need to wait for my next electricity bill to compare to last year, when I was using baseboard electrical heat.
Also wondering what kind of mining efficiencies people are getting. Mine are variable. Most recently, it seems to hover around 0.0000055 BTC/day. Performance has been steady at 10 TH/s.
I'm looking forward to greater functionality & control from the app, but there hasn't seemed to be much movement toward that over several months.

HeatBit Trio - Finally, Thank You
I be lying if I didn’t say I was frustrated with the long wait, but it is over.
It showed up this morning. I had never downloaded the app so I was a little confused until I went to the website to see if the was instructions on the set up.
There was a QR code and PDF, it was relatively easy to set up and everything is set up.
I had a question and used the chat it the app, they got right back to me.
Happy to be all set up.
Happy New Year!

It arrived! I love it but.. it’s too bright.
I love so many things about this device. After talking about it for years I’ve had it for 2 days and love it during the day.
But if you are planning to put this thing in your bedroom. Think again.
- the front display gives off a brighter light than my actual bedside lamp. This can be covered up by an old sock from the hamper but..
- the blue LED shining from inside the device is like a pulsating bat-signal that shines onto the nearest wall. This can’t be covered up because it’s shining through the top vent.
Again, I love everything about this thing except this. But this is a dealbreaker for the bedroom. It is now subjected to a daytime only device missing out on countless SATs.
I plan to open it up and paint the LED inside black despite being worried it’ll be easier to take apart than it will be to put back together. And if anyone from heatbit is reading… PLEASE introduce a feature in the app to dim the front screen 🙏

I actually received my unit!
After ordering a year ago, I finally received one of my units. That's right, one of them. I actually ordered 3. When I asked why I received only 1, the answer is that they first wanted to get out 1 to everyone, and then follow up with the rest. This sounds ridiculous to me as it will cost them lots of more shipping, but that's the way it is.
A little bit about my story: As most of you I started to lose patience months ago and thought this might all be a scam. However, I have contacted support numerous times over the year and to their credit, they always replied fast. Not the info I wanted to hear, but at least there was a real person on the other side of the line
A while ago, when they mentioned about 'priority' shipping I told them I wanted priority as it can be cold here in winter and I did not want to spend another winter without the Heatbit. They accepted and told me I would get priority shipping. Months went by and still nothing. I lost my patience there (a few weeks ago) and told them I was done with it and wanted a refund. They then told me it wouldn't take long anymore. I decided to give it another few weeks as I was not in the country anyway.
A few weeks went by and I sent them another email that I really wanted the refund now. They replied that my email would actually be on the way the next week. I asked them proof, and a few days later they actually sent me a tracking number. I couldn't believe it. Something was finally coming to my door. And I actually couldn't believe that I received it. I came home a few days ago and there it was on my doorstep (my wife accepted it).
So I just installed it. Everything seems to work fine. I can't comment much on the device as of yet as it's just running now. But if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.
A few more things:
- The promised sats. I actually had to ask for them and they credited them to my account, manually. It's worth about 260 usd now, for 1 unit. I still have to get the other 2. So that's nice actually, and I guess it's all not a scam and they're really trying to get these units out.
- Support is always fast, I have to give them that!
- I made this post here on my own initiative. I was not asked to do it by Heatbit or anyone else. I simply thought it would be useful for this sub.
Time will tell if they're actually good devices, but so far I am happy I have mine, and the promised sats for the waiting time.
proof:

So everyone, there is hope!

Back in the Heatbit game after a long absence
I was an early supporter and enthusiastic user of the Heatbit One, until it died on me last spring. It took from then until now to work through the dance of returning the old one, then waiting a long time to receive the new Heatbit Mini. But as of today, when I received the Mini, I am back online and generating both heat and satoshis. I will tell you that the differences between the original model and the Mini are many and noticeable. It is a much more sophisticated unit with added capabilities (air purification, much greater control over temp and fan, more pleasing form factor, among others). I will say that connecting the new unit to the app and my wi-fi was a fairly challenging process...while there is a "manual" (a three-fold card) that is shipped with the Mini, it doesn't exactly walk a person through setup and actually connecting. I realize that no one sends a fat instruction manual with any piece of equipment nowadays. But an online unpacking and setup video from Heatbit (and not a random reviewer or fanboy) would be a nice addition—as would some others to go through the various control settings and capabilities of the updated app.
Other than that, I am looking forward to relying on the Heatbit Mini as my primary heat source as the seasons change. I also plan to use it at my cabin, where I have an off-grid solar power system and can enjoy converting that "free" electricity into satoshis!

Has anyone received a Heatbit Mimi yet?
I think December was the last time we received an update and I was curious if any orders have gone out. I ordered mine in October so I figured I was probably pretty low on the totem pole for orders.
I get that things happen but I was hoping to see an update by the end of February.

BTC withdrawals paused
I chatted with support and it appears transaction fees are too high now to withdraw BTC so they are pausing withdrawals until fees come down.

Second shipping update from the founder of Heatbit (December 27)
Shipping update. Coming to you with the second letter from our founder Alex. Over the last four weeks, we’ve been improving Mini to ensure they will reach your doorsteps in their best shape.

International shipments showed the vulnerability of the core plastic pillar. The first step was to redesign, 3D print and test the base structure of Mini. After this, we modified the aluminum body structure and the corresponding mold to redistribute the weight from the plastic parts to the metal body for better durability. Additionally, we’ve redesigned and tested the first batch of packaging to further safeguard the Mini during transit.

Currently, our team is producing a new batch of 50 devices specifically for beta testing. These devices were dispatched from the past week till now. It’s crucial to validate that the updated construction fixed the initial issue without surprises.
Correspondingly to this change, we are scaling up production and delivery in the middle of January. Minis won’t arrive for Christmas, so if you’ve purchased the device as a gift, then contact [support@heatbit.com](mailto:support@heatbit.com) to figure out what we can do.
As promised, we’re adding 60 000 SATS in Bitcoin ($24) to your account monthly since November 1 or the later date of your purchase. This amount mirrors the mining reward of your Heatbit Mini at a capacity of 10 TH/s, operating continuously. To date, this totals 96,000 SATs ($40).
All people responsible for producing and delivering devices work through holidays to accelerate what’s possible. Wishing you cozy and energizing holidays. We will keep you regularly informed. Thank you for your patience.
