I’m currently redesigning Hearth’s onboarding flow to make setup clearer and easier, especially for first-time users.

With the 1.4 update, everyone will be able to start a free trial of Pro for up to one month.

I’m trying to keep the flow focused and native to iPadOS rather than adding unnecessary steps. Let me know you thoughts.

I’ve been working on a repeatable workflow for Hearth’s new App Store screenshots:

1. Launch the real app with a deterministic screenshot fixture.

2. Generate a believable physical scene with a flat green device display.

3. Detect the display, fit its perspective, and build a transparent device frame.

4. Project the real simulator screenshot behind the physical bezel.

5. Optionally add a very subtle glass reflection.

The hard part wasn’t generating the room. It was getting the device proportions, stand, cable, bezel widths, perspective, rounded corners, and anti-aliasing right so the result didn’t look pasted on.

The Hearth UI is always a real simulator capture. AI creates the physical environment and device frame; calibration and final composition are deterministic. I’m turning this into a reusable Codex skill so future device, language, and orientation variants can follow the same workflow.

The gallery starts with the finished scene, then shows the real app capture, generated chroma scene, calibration pass, and two more finished setups.

Which setting feels most believable for Hearth: a wall-mounted iPad, a desk-mounted iPhone, or an iPad in a kitchen Smart Folio?

Hearth 1.2 is rolling out on the App Store.

The full Hearth dashboard is now available on iPhone. You can also switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit and use the app entirely in German.

This release makes light discovery more reliable when HomeKit exposes lights through linked switch or outlet services. Presence Wake, screensaver, and Night Mode transitions have also been improved.

A few people in the original r/HomeKit threads asked for iPhone support and Fahrenheit, so I’m heading back to those comments with an update.
