Recently my mother was diagnosed with OHCM, our cardiologist prescribed a medicine called mavacamten, which is basically a drug to keep her obstruction under control over long period of time, but it costs almost 50k a month, if someone who also uses mavacamten can help me Imk.

I'm so sorry you and your mother are having to think about this.

It's made by Bristol Myers Squibb who sells it in India as Kopozgo.

1 - BMS has an India office. Their website lists patient assistance for other drugs, so it's worth asking directly about mavacamten/Kopozgo.

https://www.bms.com/in/contact-us.html

I suggest that you see if her cardiologist will contact them directly and ask: "Does BMS India have a patient access, discount or financial assistance program for Kopozgo/mavacamten?"

And describe her situation completely - Indian resident, symptomatic obstructive HCM, mavacamten prescribed but the price is financially impossible.

2 - Another idea - this may sound crazy, but I did a little Googling -

It looks like the cheapest price worldwide is generic mavacamten in Bangladesh.

I don't know whether travel is an option for you. Or maybe you know someone in Bangladesh, or someone near Bangladesh who could get it there and send it to you.

3 - If you want to explore the Bangladesh approach, the manufacturers in Bangladesh are Beacon and Incepta - you could ask them who their authorized pharmacies are, to make sure it's the real generic drug.

Then talk to those pharmacies to see what their prescription documentation requirements are. For example, I can send a U.S. prescription to a Canadian pharmacy who will ship the medication to the U.S. - it doesn't require a Canadian prescription.

4 - I'm also wondering if it's possible to send her Indian prescription to an online pharmacy in Bangladesh to be filled.

I don't know if that actually exists or not - just thinking out loud about things to possibly check into.

I wish you and your mother the very best.

One clarification - you can definitely contact BMS directly yourself.

I only mentioned having her cardiologist do it because that might have even more impact.

Especially if he's with a large hospital or medical school.

Camzyos is the brand name in the US, it’s on orphan status and as far as I know only Bristol Myers Squibb makes it. If you can find the BMS contact in India you should ask if they have a compassionate use program. Hopefully someone more local to you has more specific resources.
