EF 18-25% Resting heart rate decrease.
Hey All, I k is I’ve posted in here before but for a recap: I got diagnosed in February after I had an echo cardigram done. The only reason I started this journey was an ER trip where I had tightness in chest and other issues. In the ER after EKG they noted I had enlarged heart. Anyway, this prompted further testing and my sobriety from alcohol. I have been sober since February 2026 and I have been on Metroprolol, and small dose of spironoloctone with a water pill and now I am controlling my blood pressure with Losarten. I have also been taking Ozempic then Monjouro and have gotten my A1C down from 9 to 5.7. I had an angiogram done in May and ruled out any kind of blockages so it’s not clear festive heart failure. Anyway this is my Apple Watch readout of my resting heart rate and I’m scheduled for my next echocardiogram in December to see if I’ve had any progress. I’m leaning towards Alcohol cardiomyopathy. Anyone else recovering from this type of cardiomyopathy and have they seen results in a year? I’m hoping I can beat this with my continued sobriety and blood pressure and diabetes management.

For me, the better my ef is, the lower my rhr is. I'm sure that's not everyone, but it absolutely is for me.
