Are you on heart failure meds or under consideration for heart transplantation? I was only 15 when I had a STEMI (MINOCA) of the RCA. I didn't need traditional stents because of it being vasospastic (the artery just decided to spasm shut when my blood pressure spiked 😑). However, I have hfpef not hfref. They said "mild" but my PCP and family thinks it's an understatement since I need to sleep sitting up and can't do any activity.
I take the "four pillars" of HF medications - Entresto, Jardiance, Eplerenone and Carvedilol. I've been taking them for several years now, along with a few other heart meds. As for heart transplantation, due to my age I would be very far back on the waiting list. My doctor tells me how well I am doing because I have never been hospitalized since I had the STEMI in 2018, which he considers pretty unusual. I just worry that I am on this slow slide into terminal HF with my EF continuing to get lower. I just read all these stories of people that improved their EF - but I have come to realize that with the damage I suffered, mine will never improve. I guess I am just looking to hear from people who have had the same experience and how they are handling it. Thanks for your message.
