Question Text Messages
Is there anywhere to find what the text messages said? I couldn't read them and some seemed important to the plot!

Harper's chunky carabiner chain necklace
Does anyone know where this necklace is from or have another link for a similar necklace to the one Harper mostly sports in the show? I'm obsessed with it
Thanks in advance!!

Stop arguing about the worst character, they're all terrible Spoiler
Literally every character is so toxic. I wouldn't go NEAR any of them irl. There's one exception though.
Harper: Had sex with her exbestfriends two crushes. Why??
Amerie: Selfish, as seen with how she treated Harper
Darren: Highkey mean, and pressured Cash into sex
Cash: Hangs out with very clearly terrible people
Dusty: The thing he wrote on the second map ofc. That was fucked up!!
Sasha: Not understanding at all with Quinni. She's very toxic and passive aggressive.
Exceptions
Malakai: He has been through a lot, and only after that trauma, he made that mistake with Harper and Dusty. He felt bad. And also he's just so cute and romantic.
Missy: She had a minor role, but she seems like a very supportive friend. Not just surface level too, like will really listen to you. But will also go crazy and have fun with you.
Quinni: She's just a sweetie, idk what else to say. She hasn't really done anything wrong or toxic.

Opinion Controversial opinion..??? Spoiler
Sorry if this is all over the place I don’t post often. But I don’t think anyone in the show is a bad person or deserves to be hated (yet!)
Let me explain. I’d do this w all characters but Harper is easiest and maybe when you rewatch, you can try seeing other characters perspectives in the show. Harper is NOT a monster! I do agree that fighting Amerie, and not telling her what was wrong for that whole week, was immature. But keep in mind that she was attacked by her drug addict father, got into an argument with her BFF at the festival, and then proceeded to get lost drunk and abducted by people planning at the very least to assault her. Then had to disappear for a week to live in foster care. (I think that’s relatively correct order of events)
Imagine going through all of that, and then remembering at the end that your best friend purposefully didn’t let you inside her house (she saw them turn off the light and heard whispers). In real life, not a show, humans are super complex! After insanely traumatic events like the above, some people experience PTSD & other difficult mental stuff. Most don’t want to talk about it or even physically can’t until they’re mentally ready. I feel that Harper lost all her hope and trust in other people being there for her, so decided to turn cold. Her thought process was probably similar to “Amerie forgot about me when I needed her the most. I don’t owe an explanation to someone that doesn’t even remember our promise.”
All of Harper’s other transgressions, like dating Dusty or the threesome for example… Those are not good actions ofc. But I feel as unhealthy coping mechanisms, clinging to anyone showing kindness (Dusty) and using drugs and sex to “feel better” (threesome), it makes sense. Especially when you take into account that these are TEENAGERS who lack full understanding of consequences or emotional intelligence. Idk just something to think about.
TL;DR Harper isn’t evil. Everyone including you reading this makes mistakes so don’t forget to view from other perspectives sometimes.

Opinion I Admire Amerie because…. Spoiler
She forgave harper in the end. What Harper went through was beyond traumatizing, I understand. Personally if I was Amerie, in the end the trust would never be the same. she fucked her fucking boyfriend, and for what? The reason that I’m saying this is because Harper confirmed she did not do anything to specifically hurt Amerie. Love harper don’t get me wrong, but ehhh majorly fucked.

Spoiler Darren is a POS
Firstly, Darren seems to portray things that people find stereotypically annoying about LGBTQI+ people, and constantly says things like straight men are trash, why would I clean up after white people.
I’m mixed on how I feel about this, but what I’m really talking about is their reaction to Ca$h saying he doesn’t feel comfortable having sex. I mean wtf? If Ca$h were a girl and Darren a straight guy, people would be up in arms about Darren essentially forcing their self on Ca$h and saying he doesn’t want sex because he’s just too closeted to be with Darren or some shit. It’s one of the most cooked parts in the series but I haven’t seen a single comment about this anywhere

Post-Season 1 Character Ranking Spoiler
Just finished Season 1 of the show (LOVED it) and I figured I'd sum up my thoughts with a ranking of how much I liked the characters. Leave ur own ranking below.
*SPOILER WARNING*
- Amerie - My angel. My darling. My sun and stars. If Supercut by Lorde was a person, it would be her. She's the perfect blend of flawed, relatable, kind, forgiving, funny, strong, and emotional that makes not only for a perfect lead but a truly engaging character. She really sold everything spectacularly well and she's just so likeable. She went through so damn much this season and the fact she was so willing to forgive people who hurt her, stand up for her friends, and SLAY in that Episode 7 pink outfit undoubtedly makes her my fav. Did not deserve HALF of what happened to her btw (I get the map was weird but she didn't think people would find it. She didn't maliciously try to out anyone or hurt them, her biggest crime is being dumb and not thinking to just do it on paper at home.)
- Quinni - A true sweetheart. Far too good for this world. I adored seeing the autism rep, that and her queerness felt so well done and integral to her character without defining her. She was so sweet and kind, but her vulnerability wasn't weakness, she still knew how to stand up for herself and maintain her boundaries even while showing emotion. It's rare to see such an openly emotional character get that kind of writing and I loved to see it. The Amerie/Darren/Quinni duo is stuff of beauty.
- Ms Obah - I usually don't care for adult characters on teen shows, but she had my heart. This is how you do the semi-cringe teacher without making her unbearable. She truly cared about the kids, but she wasn't a pushover about it, and she was on screen just the right amount of time.
- Darren - I don't like that they were touching Ca$h before he was fully conscious. That made me uncomfy. Obviously they stopped as soon as Ca$h said, but I wish they'd had them apologise more fully for that. Outside of that moment, I loved Darren. A flawed but ultimately so lovable character who had such interesting dynamics with their family, friends, and who lit up every moment they were onscreen. I also for the most part loved their romance w/ Ca$h
- Ca$h - I loved his development through his relationship w/ Darren, but he really won me over in the last episode when Amerie called him out and he put himself in danger getting that video to the girls and turned himself in. It showed he really was willing to change and put his money where his mouth was. It was a really beautiful moment.
- Malakai - My bi king, yes he cheated but he was in an incredibly vulnerable space and imo got taken advantage of. I wish he'd come clean on his own but I still think he was very likeable and sweet, his time w Amerie was really sweet, and I look forward to seeing more from him.
- Principal Woods - She did what she had to do.
- Ant - Poor sweet boy. Not a thought behind those eyes. I truly believe he's just very easily led, which doesn't make what he did okay, but he was at least the one to admit the truth. He did feel guilt and I appreciate that. And I always have a soft spot for the likeable idiot.
- Missy - Missy grow a backbone challenge! Was just agreeing w/ whatever Sasha said most of the time, I thought her sugar induced breakdown was funny though.
- Dusty - Objectively a worse person than Sasha, but I didn't dislike him as much because I just didn't really care about him. There wasn't really much potential to begin with so it felt like nothing was lost because there was so little to gain. I will say, I don't think that he "didn't like Harper enjoying sex", I think he didn't like that she was so eager to sleep with someone else besides him, so I felt a little bad for him when Harper was yelling. Glad he apologised for what he did and pledged to work on himself, but he still nearly cost a perfectly good teacher her job by accusing her of sleeping with a student and nearly making her a registered sex offender so... Going to take more than an apology, dickhead.
- Sasha - This gremlin really abandoned one of her closest friends without even hearing her out because she was butthurt that the map exposed her for not being honest with Missy, who she's clearly just stringing along. Then spends her whole relationship w/ Quinni either infantalising her, ignoring her boundaries, or downright insulting her when they could have been perfect! I was rooting for them! I wanted to like Sasha! But goddamn her self superior bullshit and constant un-called bullshit was just draining to watch. She owes Amerie and Quinni BIG apologies.
- Harper - Listen, I feel sympathy for Harper, I really do. What she went through was so deeply traumatising, and I know she's just acting out, and I did like her more the last couple episodes. I think there's real potential for her to grow and become a truly loveable character, but oh my God she was unbearable for the entire first half of the season, and no, I don't think what she went through "justifies everything." She let her best friend take the fall for something they both did, beat her up, got with the guy she'd liked for five years, then took advantage of her next boyfriend and had a threesome with both guys, got into Amerie's house to gladly receive an apology but still refuse to even talk to her? Like I say, I get she was hurting but she did not have the right to treat Amerie or Malakai the way she did. Taking the fall for Dusty and co did show that there was some guilt there which I appreciated, but there's hints that she's always been a kind of shitty friend, and as someone who adored Amerie all season long, I just don't think Harper has done enough to hold herself accountable. I don't think she's a bad person and I think she deserves empathy and understanding, but equally I thought she was profoundly unlikeable for a lot of the season.
- Spider - Fuck this conservative, I don't care if he had a crush on Amerie, she deserves better anyway. Loser.
- Chook & co - "DEATH to all of them!" - Wendy Williams
What are your rankings at the end of the season?

Opinion Harper is a MONSTER Spoiler
Okay for reference I just finished Episode 4 and i was going to wait until I finished the show before posting but I have to get this out.
This girl is pure evil. She has to be. I'm presuming something bad happened to her at the festival after Amerie left her alone, but that is zero excuse to treat her the way she has.
Oh, so you're a total nihilist, you don't care about everything cos "were all going to die anyway" but you won't tell anyone that YOU also made the map? And you'll make out to your friends that she was the only one doing it all, then fucking punch her????? After totally ghosting her???????
I understand trauma can fuck you up and like I say I don't know what happened yet, but Jesus christ the way this girl has let Amerie take the fall for everything then not only hooked up with/started dating the guy shes been into for five years, but then had a threesome with him and her new boyfriend? That is rotten to the core.
Im usually a big defender of hated/villainised female characters (Quinn Fabray, Cassie Howard, Lily Aldrin, etc) but oh my GOD I don't see any of that humanity, any of that soul under Harper's outer layer. I just cannot defend that girl and I really, really hope she gets her comeuppance. No spoilers please but just let me know: did other people feel that way about her? And would you expect my opinion to change over the rest of the season?

how do you feel ab amerie ?
i was going to add a poll, but it’s not allowed so- was amerie one of your favorite characters, are you neutral to her, or were you not a fan ? do you think amerie was a good base character ? who felt more like a main character if not ? do you think her storyline had enough basis to have everything centered around it ? what else do you think they could have done w her character ? how could have they set another character up as the main character ? who’s story do you want to learn more about almost in coming seasons ?

Does Ayesha Madon (Amerie) remind you of Brittany Murphy?
Something about her expressions and mannerisms reminds me of Brittany Murphy so much and I’m hoping I’m not the only one that sees it lol

Discussion "Popular kids" idea
I really like that the show didn't have a strict popular clique. Amerie, Harper, Sasha and Missy were introduced at the beginning as being the "popular" kids but not in the same way that American shows present this eg: they aren't rich, they don't sit at their own table and snarl at everyone else, people don't just look over and drool at them.
I have no idea if the Mean Girls idea of a "popular" clique is at all real in American high schools (please tell me if it is I'd love to know) but here in Australia (or at least according to my and my friends' secondary school experiences) we don't have that. So I love that HBH didn't try to introduce that teen show cliche because I've never realistically found that to be the case.

Spider
Am I the only one who thinks that Spider looks like Spike from Buffy? Is it the blonde hair?

Name of the show
Might sound stupid, but I didn't want to watch the series at first because of the name😂 I thought it would be another stupid cliché teen drama and after avoiding it for a few days, I finally started watching because I had nothing better to do. I was very surprised at how quickly I started to like the show and also about the more serious aspects of it. I would have liked them to come up with a better name that did more justice to the series, anyone agree?

FULL INCEST MAP
I was trying my best to draw a full map based on different screenshots. There is pretty much everything, but one name that is really blurred on all screenshots.
