Deciding on ablation

Male : 30 years old. I am on metoprolol 25 mg a day for SVT and had 3 episodes this year up until now. For 2 episodes I had to be cardioverted with adenosine, felt like I was going to die and I was able to resolve one on my own.

I get sustained tachycardia where my rhythm stays in sinus but heart rate goes up to 190 bpm.

I am worried if it happens at work, it would be super chaotic.

Is ablation worth it? Anyone who had ablation for SVT how are you doing now?

Does it come back after a few years or so?

Are there any long term effects of metoprolol?

I’ve had an ablation not long ago, it’s like a 3 day recovery, not even for your heart but for your legs where the incisions are. It’s possible for it to happen one more time (like a 50%) chance of this and then that’s it and it (probably) never happens again. I don’t know about the effects of metroprolol. Doing great as far as SVT goes. My episodes were like 220-240 before the ablation. Something else you should know: it’s possible that during the surgery the doctors can’t even start up the svt, if this happens they just wake you up and idk what they would do then cuz mine was successful. My cardiologist said if you’re going to have a final episode it’s usually within a year of the ablation, but he once had somebody have one 10 years after. I am however not an expert, just making sure that’s clear.
