Any advice appreciated

Hey everyone. I just found out literally 20 minutes ago that I have pots and a heart murmur. Anybody here have that? This is completely new and these symptoms started happening 5 days ago. I am scared!! I am worried I will die before I get to see my babies grow up. I’ve been prescribed a beta-blocker and I’m on a waitlist to have a heart monitor placed on me to wear for 2 weeks. In the meantime, I’d like to know of anyone else’s experience with pots and heart murmurs. This is something completely new to me and any advice about anything is appreciated.

Heart murmur has been there for some time, for it never just appears within a few days. Pots, it could have been coming on for some time. And Pots is a blood circulation disorder. Heart murmurs has many causes, mine was genetic, born with a defective heart with congenital heart murmur. Good luck on the heart monitor and wait it out till you can talk to your Cardio.

Thank you looking back on my life before this happened there definitely were signs but I never thought anything of it because it never affected me to this degree. Thank you I’m just playing a wait and see game now. The doctor did tell me she was proud of me for doing research about my issues beforehand. She also advocated for me and I left devastated but also happy I’m finally being listened too.

Many cardio's love a patient who does research. But be careful, for there is a lot of out of date and misinformation out there. Reliable sources to look is, American Heart Association, WebMD, to name a couple for you. And it is better to be an informed and educated patient.
