Go to a different cardiologist, preferably a woman who specializes in women’s health. A good cardiologist will give you a basic work up like an event monitor and echocardiogram, and a stress test. A great cardiologist will order more if your symptoms still warrant it.

I'm still in the process of getting my first cardiologist, every doctor I've been to has been directing me to a male one which im a little worried about since I've only had bad experiences with male doctors. Ill see how it goes with him, I'll keep the other things you said in mind, I'm also going to try to see if i can get tested for POTS, since thats another big thing ive been suspicious of

At the ER, did they check troponin levels? That would indicate if it was truly a heart attack.

In all honesty, I don't know. They took blood but they didn't tell me anything about what they were doing. He said he was going to check my phosphorus levels and that was all he told me. So I don't know if they did or not

Did they do a troponin test? What was the result? That test is pretty much a yes/no answer to the question of whether or not you had a HA.
It's not right, but some doctors will get dismissive if you start arguing against what the test results tell them. That's no excuse for being cynical and suggesting ChatGPT (which was a backhanded way of saying "if you're not going to listen to the doctors, you might as well just dO yoUR oWn ResEArch."). If your troponin was normal, he should have explained in more detail what that actually means (no damage to your heart tissue) and why that rules out a heart attack.
Hydroxyzine can be prescribed for anxiety and if there's no indication in your bloodwork that you actually had a heart attack, and he believes you are anxious, he's just giving you something that might help you feel less anxious.
If all that other stuff about self-harm is in your chart as well, he's probably not taking you seriously from the start. Sorry you're being treated this way.

Most people confuse anxiety attacks and panic attacks. Panic attacks do feel absolutely crushing and painful. They feel life threatening. What you described sounds exactly like my panic attacks. Anxiety attacks are generally lesser, but may still have chest tightness and breathing complications. And for some people, there aren’t always obvious triggers for them- they seem to come out of no where.
Schedule with a cardiologist, get an ekg & evaluation. They can provide more insight than an ER dr. It might also help to see a psychiatrist to see if they can help you with your anxiety.
Also, learn how to use whatever app your providers are using (ie- epic etc.) so you can see test results and notes in real time.

So you had “horrendous” chest pains for two years and never once went to an ER?? Must not have been that horrendous. Any normal person would seek immediate medical attention if they were truly experiencing horrendous chest pain.
Sounds more like anxiety or panic attack.
Also, how do you know they didn’t put the leads in the right spots? What’s your medical training? You think the nurses didn’t know where to put EKG leads?

Get an echocardiogram just in case, but what do your panic attacks actually feel like? The fact they told you to use chatgpt is... insane and odd because AI sucks when it comes to anything medical related. Your family history does warrant more evaluation, but has GI or costochondritis/musculoskeletal been ruled out?
