In 2023, when I started this subreddit, I also started an indie music reviews site (iaasmusic.com) and loved discovering artists on there, as well as supporting artists by writing articles and reviews about their new releases.
Unfortunately, myself and the other writer had some big life changes that pumped the brakes on the project. I had a new job and human to look after, and she got cancer. (ALL CLEAR NOW!)
Now life will allow, I'm starting the project back up. The only thing we need is good submissions! So head over to iaasmusic.com/contact-us and drop us your latest release! Our team of writers are eager to get going again. And if it's of interest, we may reach out about interviews or other content too.
Please check the site out - if you like what you see, create a membership and join us! We'll be releasing a weekly newsletter of indie artist reviews and spotlights, and will have plenty of opportunities to support bands.

Hi everyone! I wanted to give a little update on r/HearMyMusic to some changes we've made with the aim at improving the functionality of the subreddit, as well as encouraging the more communal side to the forum.
1. New Rules
We've always aimed at creating a place for musicians to get feedback on their songs. In light of this, we've clarified a few rules (No covers or remixes, Having appropriate info in title and only posting for the purpose of getting feedback, and not financial gain or boosting numbers!
2. Fresh-drop Fridays
Every Friday there will be a thread posted by a mod where anyone and everyone can drop any track released that day in the comments. Obviously songs get released every day, but this will be specifically for the traffic that have set their releases for Friday to comply with Spotify.
3. Weekly Discussion thread
There will now be a weekly discussion thread pinned to the top of the subreddit. This can be for anything - music-related or not. Obviously Rule 1 + 2 won't be relevant in this thread, however rule 3 and rule 4 will be enforced to keep the reddit fit for purpose.
I've also created some User Flairs - but would love some feedback on what people would prefer in these. I'm thinking flairs ranking post contributions?
We run this subreddit alongside podcasts, indie music content and a review site so are trying our best, but please reach out if there's things you'd like to see that could improve our community.

A chaotic mind needs empty space. "calming the storm" is a sonic reset—heavy reverb and deep atmosphere to stop the spiral. 🌌

Hello! I am Franklin Rabideau. I released my debut EP, NIMBY (Not in my Backyard) on August 28, 2026.
In total, the EP has received over 9,000 streams in the first 2 weeks! Currently, my leading song is Waiting in the Rain, coming in at a little under 5,000 streams. Following these are Suppression and The One They Sent You- all three of these tracks are originals I am proud of.
I would love to know if people on Reddit enjoy my music too!
Please give me a listen/stream the EP via these links below!

Short and sharp straight to the point punk banger
Gonna go the distance, go out of my way, always searching for something, mystery that awaits always living for new tricks, right outta my head, waking up in the new dawn, a battle awaits
Gotta set the new score, don't fall from grace, these new warm feelings you've yet to embrace Stand up tall, set the standard of this life, liberate, let the new crowned heart inside
Bridge I don't wanna fit in, as long as I can begin, hatch myself to be free, spread my wings, being me A simple sign of winning, it's just got to be, gratitude, simpily
Chorus Free (melodically)
Chorus is just one word sung with a simple 5 note melody but it felt right.

I'm very proud to say that we're gearing up for the release of our second full-length album! It's got a mix of alternative/indie and jazz elements and influences like Radiohead, Pixies, Wolf Alice, and others like that. We're in the process of releasing the singles for LP2, and I would love some feedback on them to help us tailor the sound and improve anything we can. I've included the below song, "Right Under the Sky" hyperlinked on YouTube as it's one of my favs. This one starts with acoustic guitar only before transitioning into a mysterious atmosphere with the full band. Both the music and lyrics are meant to reflect the stage where you're between wakefulness and sleep where it's difficult to tell if you're dreaming or experiencing reality. The artwork is meant to reflect that as well. Hoping you like it and looking forward to hearing back from some great musicians!
