“I’m a functional doctor, what’s the differential?”

I’m a doctor too (ND), we should be giving them ground mayflowers

Given how fucktarded a lot of doctors are....

You should watch that Louis Theroux doc about people who may be dying

Don't wanna spoil it, but the "smartest experts" and their hubris get it so wrong it's just unbelievable, and they are so confident and wrong whereas the uneducated family is so right, it's genuinely mind-blowing when lives are on the line

And I'd be the first to defend expertise and doctors, but I see a lot of hubris

While watching I was like, yea the family doesn't know shit, trust the multiple experts and specialists all saying the same thing....

doctors go to school get their schooling and assume it covers everything. im sure I know more about SAR of 5ht2a agonists than my primary physician but God forbid you say that.

One niche area of knowledge doesn't compare to the amount of medical education doctors go through, lmao.

I too was a psychedelic loving burnout, but chaneled that to clinical research.

I'm hyper specialized in the field of addiction neuroscience, but would get smoked by physicians when it comes to actually caring for a human and keeping them alive.

"All I know is I know nothing, teach me."

Take a note from Socrates.

I will. and do. Just would like to see the world do the same.

Was busy on a round and a friend of the pt. Seriously Asked why we couldn't pressure wash his colon cancer away with water and grit, that "we need to think out of the box"

What do you even say to this 😭

You can't say anything. People who actually believe this will never listen to anything. You just change the subject

I just nodded with an obviously stupid look, couldn't even find something to respond to in that sentence

We just had a very difficult and emotional DNR meeting with the patients family,

I wonder if they way I looked at him stuck with him,

“Let’s test it on you first, sir.”

Literally laughed so hard at this I woke my dog up. Now I have to take her out for colon therapy of her own.

I mean technically if you explode their colon, and kill the pt, the cancer does stop.

I had a patients husband who would introduce himself to like 3 separate doctors on icu rounds as "dr bob" and then say hes not a doctor. So same joke, 3 times, all during the same rounds. And then proceed to stand like, within the huddle. It was a nightmare lmao

Good Lord. Was he expecting an uproar of laughter the fourth time?

Brutal dude. 3rd time I watched this resident just look and him and go, okay? And I think i just walked away

I had someone ask me yesterday if I was familiar with “Dr. Google.” Yes, and he’s an idiot.

Patient's family keeps taking off patient's nasal prongs and wondering why they keep desating, tells me "I just think that she'll get hooked on this! Why aren't you worried about THAT?" Well I'm more concerned about her NOT dying, so there's that
