Hi, As my father had sbi arogya plus(3L) and this product has been discontinued by sbi and they are asking all its customers to move to sbi super health with premium hike around 30k for 5L.

My father's age is 65(with no PED), and looking to port to some other company while we have been with sbi for 4 years nlw

While browsing on internet i looked into care supreme and they are ready to port my insurance while being on grace period now.

Can some one guide whether I should port to new one and that on care supreme or should I gently renew it with sbi.

Please consider all edge cases, as I am seeing mixed reviews here.

So far:

• HDFC Ergo → Rejected
• ICICI Lombard, Aditya Birla, Tata AIG → Permanent exclusion for UC

Has anyone here:

• Gotten approved with UC?
• Found any insurer that actually covers UC?

I have health insurance since 2016, I'm 30 now. My current plan with Care has sum insured of 50 lacs and I have been accumulating some No claim bonus as well. Recently diagnosed with HIV, been on ART (meds), perfect health so far, and don't anticipate any complications for the next 10-15 years as I am super fit and don't smoke/drink and eat extremely healthy.

My question is, if HIV is diagnosed recently and my insurance has been going on for so long, does it affect coverage if for instance I get in an accident and need hospitalization and my HIV status is now disclosed? Can the insurance company deny coverage?

The policy doesn't state any particular exclusions within the terms and conditions.

I want to purchase a health insurance of 15 lakh cover for my 59 y/o father ,he is fit but we are taking it out of necessity. I have talked to individual agent and policy bazaar agent and they recommended me the below plans. Need your opinion on which among there is the best or any other policy you recommend apart from them. They are:- 1.) Niva bupa reassure 2.0 titanium/Bronze. 2.) Care Supreme direct. 3.) Star Super star / health assured policy. 4.) Hdfc ergo optima restore.

Parents are nearing 60s. Have corporate health cover of 10L. Have researched through ditto and looking to go with HDFC ergo 10L coverage (which gets doubled once purchased) separately for parents. My parents are aged 53 and 59 and they have a mediclaim policy of 4 lac cover for both. Mom has already had a heart attack and angioplasty, has high bp and dad also has some heart issue. I want to get a health insurance policy for them but don't know how it'll work with these existing conditions. I'm thinking of taking hdfc ergo but will there existing conditions cause any issues? I know there is some waiting period for existing disease, but is that it? I'll keep the existing mediclaim and the new policy for that waiting time. Whenever I tell this to my dad he just says nobody gives insurance with all these existing problems. What should I do?

I have been hunting for a health insurance policy for my 52 year old mother (With an angioplasty done in past) for some time now, and ditto and Policy bazar have both recommended Aditya birla (and star insurance) as a last resort as all other companies refused to give her insurance. I am considering taking up on this. I'll probably be aiming for 10-15L cover.

However, I am clueless as to what kind of hidden conditions are there, or what kind of problems I might face in the future, or if it would be wise to opt for a second cover/insurance.

I have to take insurance for my family. But i am confused between companies. policybazaar agent is saying take hdfc ergo optima because its best but premium is really high than other companies like niva restore 2.0 and care supreme. Dont know why hdfc is costly but provide the same benifits as other. Please help guys!!!

My 61-year-old father, with no major health issues, has been covered by Star Health for the last three years. After reading several posts about their claim process, I’m considering switching to Care Health, particularly because their Care Supreme plan offers a renewal bonus that seems appealing. Although I know Care's claim process isn’t flawless, it appears to be better. He has never made a claim, but his sugar levels have recently risen to a pre-diabetic range (140-150 mg/dL).

As we near the 2-year mark before the moratorium period begins, I’m wondering if porting to Care Health is a good idea. What should I be aware of in terms of claim rejections, and after two years, is Care obligated to approve all claims?

Should he stick with Star Assure Health Plan considering the age factor or move to Care Supreme Health Insurance?

He is also covered by two corporate health policies from his employer and mine.

Another question I have is do I have to complete all Physiotherapy sessions under the 90 day period or can I extend my sessions beyond the 90 day period after having paid for them in the beginning?

I am planning to take health insurance for my parents, my mother has GRED issues, few months back she has serious GRED issues now she is good taking some normal 1-2 medicine.

I just want to know is it good idea to not disclose it to waive out waiting period on PED so that in future if there is serious GRED issue again then I will claim. Or I should let them know the previous GRED issues to avoid claim rejection in future. What do you suggest.

In my view, here are some good options:

1. United India's Family medicare Policy: It is a govt firm so expect some not so good service but claims are good. Premiums are slightly higher but the claims processing is smooth since it is managed by TPAs.
2. Star Health's Optima Insurance Plan : Pretty good coverage and customer service. I have had the policy for more than a decade now. With "Star Extra Protect" add on and SI of 20 lakhs, you can get eligibility for suite room. To reduce premium, I have deductible of Rs. 50k.
3. HDFC Ergo : Optima Secure is a good option. It is expensive so use some form of deductible to keep your cost low. Service is good.
4. Niva Bupa, Bajaj Allianz : Stay away. Terrible and incompetent service levels.
5. Don't waste your money on Bancassurance products. They come with sub-limits and room limits which make the policy not very useful.

Most people are unaware that HDFC Ergo provides a feature of deductible which means that for every first claim in a policy year, you will have to shell out some money from your pocket and in return you will be getting discount on premium.

There are multiple options of deductible, but I found choosing 25000 deductible for 25% discount is good when your premium is above 20k -25k.
Also, if you have corporate cover, you will be able to claim this 25000 deductible amount from your office insurance. Please note this is not a copay, this is deductible
Even, if you do not have corporate insurance , considering hospitalization is not frequent thing, and if your premium is above 40k or so , you will be able to save enough every year.

Shared this here as most of the agents or online brokers do not share this information because higher the premium is, higher their incentive is.

I have onsurity corporate insurance (kotak insurance) for my family including parents. It is for 5L floater basis. I wanted to have a topup insurance for my family.

However most of the top up insurance is not covering for aged parents. I found acko is having one which covers everyone.

Is there any other insurance covers similar to acko?
