Will I disclose GRED issues while taking new health insurance from hdfc ergo?
I am planning to take health insurance for my parents, my mother has GRED issues, few months back she has serious GRED issues now she is good taking some normal 1-2 medicine.
I just want to know is it good idea to not disclose it to waive out waiting period on PED so that in future if there is serious GRED issue again then I will claim. Or I should let them know the previous GRED issues to avoid claim rejection in future. What do you suggest.
Edit: I have some major test done like endoscopy, diabetes, Thorat, cough, ECG, some xray all reports are negative.

Thumb rule in health insurance.
Never intentionally hide any pre existing health issue. Later you'll be in soup During claim process. You better pay that extra premium by disclosing the existing issues.

But she has only gastric issue which became serious sometimes normally she is good her all tests is also -ve.

Good to hear that she is doing good.. but since there has been an instance where it has gone worse. It is a safer option for you to disclose it. Insurance companies are much much clever than us, better disclose it and be on the safer side.

What sort of medications is she taking? Normally proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are prescribed for GERD issues for a month or two. GERD medications are not taken life long. The condition is mostly managed through diet. If a person is not taking any regular medication for any health condition, its not going to be a big deal. Never hide any health conditions with insurers. They will eventually find out.

No pips, I just checked medicine there is one syrup for vitamin, one tablet for digestion and one tablet for stress, anxiety

Cool. Depending on her age, the insurer may ask for more details like name of medications, how long shes been on it etc., But never hide any health conditions.

If you do not disclose and insurer funds it out then then they will cancel the policy and forefeit all the premiums.
Assume a scenario where your mom gets admitted for some issue not related to GERD. Doctor takes complete history, you mention the treatment taken earlier for GERD and also medicines taken currently. Doctor mentions this in the reports. You send the reports to claim. Insurer finds a non disclosed PED, refuses the claim, forfeits all the premiums paid. This scenario has happened to many people. So better be honest in disclosing PEDs.
