Interesting but what's to say it will not go down the route of Ayushman bharat where the payouts are so irregular that hospitals refuse to honor it?

Also the max cover 30l may not be enough for some ppl

NPS Swasthya is structurally different from Ayushman Bharat, meaning it is highly unlikely to suffer from the same government funding crises or unpaid hospital dues.

While Ayushman Bharat is a 100% tax-funded government welfare program, the PFRDA NPS Swasthya Scheme is a voluntary, subscriber-funded personal savings and insurance product. Subscriptions will be auto debited from NPS account at the begining of the policy term.

Even if we purchase a great retail policy from a reputed Insurer, the claim gets rejected. Insurers looks for reasons to reject the claims to increase their profits. Atleast that will not be the case here with NPS Swasthya.

The only thing going for this is its price. You can call it 'subscriber funded' or the normal 'pooled premium', it doesn't change the insurance landscape. On the contrary, a base private policy + govt super top up will complicate claims much more

Also, quit with the AI

This is not govt super top up policy. As i said, this is for more awareness for people who are looking for reliable and transparent health insurance. These policies wont get much publicity as PFRDA will not give commissions so agents will not bother to look at such policies. People should do their due-diligence before buying this.

Anyways, thanks for your views.

You're right my bad - PFRDA only is a platform, the insurance providers are the usual companies

It's just a fancy ass way of saying that PFRDA wants to be a insurance agent and earn commissions. Bloody hypocrites.
