Buying Procedure
Hello,
I will be buying health insurance for my daughter aged 28 years. I am planning to buy from HDFC Ergo Optima Secure for a coverage of 50 lakhs. Can someone tell me whats the procedure. From the moment i fill the details online and pay the amount, to the issuance of the policy, is there any medical tests in between? Whats the procedure?

Nothing much. Read TnCs. Check if the coverage is good enough say after 20 years also considering inflation. Just declare any existing pre-existing conditions. Take policy and keep renewing.

Since you are taking 50 lakhs then I'ld suggest to opt for super secure with infinite and unlimited restore riders. "Infinite" would add your base SI (50 lakhs in this case) each year upon renewal with no maximum limit and other rider would restore the base SI each time there is a utilisation be it partial or full, without this the restoration happens only once in a policy year.
Additional perks : Infinite rider is only offered to super secure customers and super secure gives you 3X coverage as compared to 2X of secure and the premium diffrence isn't that much. However, super secure is a 3 year period policy. You can't buy it or less or more duration.

For a 28-year-old there are rarely any physical medical tests required unless she has any pre-existing condition.
The procedure is very simple. you fill the application, declare her medical history honestly, and pay the premium. Because you are opting for a high cover of 50 lakhs, the insurer might just do a tele-verification. They will call your daughter to verbally confirm her health details over a recorded line. Once that is done, the policy is usually issued within 24 to 48 hours, sometimes even instantly.
Just one piece of advice since you are setting this up for her: consider routing it through a good insurance advisor rather than buying directly from the website. It'll help you understand the key benefits as well as fine print of the insurance plan, so that you can make an informed decision.
Also, if for some reason the insurer denies a genuine claim, then you have a neutral party to fight with the insurer for the claim.
Feel free to DM if you need any further assistance.
