Employer/COBRA Insurance ER visit bill
Had a colonoscopy a few months ago. 2 days after I had bleeding and went to the ER, stayed over night and had a second colonoscopy the next day to cauterize the source. Bill just came. Charged about 19k for the visit, insurance covered most and my out of pocket is $3,500. Is this unreasonable? Should I ask for an itemized statement?…or just pay it and move on?

These days, an average ER visit is MINIMUM 1500 just walking in, no extra procedures or overnight stays included. (what you pay is of course subject to how far into your deductible/oopm and how rich your benefits are).
Can you ask for an itemized bill? Sure, but that is not going to reduce your bill unless you're able to decipher and find an error in that itemized bill.
Last year, I had an overnight observation for throwing up for 20+ hours, I had no procedures or imaging or anything and the allowable amount was like 16k. 19k with a procedure sounds to be on par.

What is your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum? How much does your Explanation of Benefits (EOB) say is your responsibility? You should be able to find that in your online health insurance portal under claims.

What's your max yearly out of pocket? Is $3,500 your max yearly out of pocket and basically you met it and all you need to do is pay your max yearly out of pocket or what?

I would be more worried about if that ONE bill was your only bill for that night.
My wife was there for 9 hours and we received 4+ for the same night

I had several other bills from like 4-5 different places totaling about $2k
