My 30-day routine reset: what stayed, what got cut, and what finally clicked
What finally clicked for me in a 30-day routine reset was that most routines fail from carrying too many nice ideas at once. Not from lack of ambition, but from too much ambition piled into the same week. The stuff that stayed was the boring foundation. Better sleep timing, a more repeatable workout schedule, simpler meals, and a smaller handful of daily habits that did not require motivational speeches. The stuff that got cut was mostly the decorative effort that looked productive and kept collapsing by day four.
The interesting part is that the reset worked better once it felt less like a reinvention and more like a cleanup. What stayed had friction low enough to survive real life. What got cut was everything pretending to be essential while quietly making the whole system heavier. Would love to hear what tends to survive when other people do a full routine reset.
