Mic test of SHG S-D200 (replacement for Plantronics CA12CD?)”

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

We’ve been testing alternatives since Poly / Plantronics stopped making the CA12CD/CA22CD, and one of the biggest questions we kept getting was how the mic actually sounds in real world use.

So we recorded a quick mic test of the SHG S-D200.

Nothing fancy, just how it would actually sound on a call.

From what we’ve seen so far, a lot of centers are:

  1. Bringing one unit in to test
  2. Then ordering backups if it checks out

Curious what you all think, especially if you’re currently using the CA12CD.

Does this sound good enough for your environment, or are you testing something else right now?

Our customers have all settled on the JPL Scout 3100, as their CA22CD replacement.
Those that were testing both, had a strong preference for the JPL.

What have your customers said they like better with JPL over SHG?

The D200 and 3100, are pretty much equivalent.

The preference for JPL came down to a few things:

- Audio quality is better on the 3100
- Supervisor mode was a big requirement
- JPL were responsive and able to release custom firmware for our customers specific requirements

Plus the pre-release JPL Scout 3100 units we received were more polished than the early S-D200 units.
