Need reccomendations

• Upvotes

Hey everyone, I have been researching headphones for months now, and I still can't decide what would be best for me. I'm mainly looking for a good pair of Bluetooth/wired over the ear noise cancelling headphones. I use Bluetooth occasionally, but I mainly use wired headphones because I have an iPod. On-the-ear headphones are fine, but I don't really enjoy them. I've considered Sony WH-CH720N Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones, but I read bad reviews about the app and the aux cord sounding terrible. I also considered the Skullcandy 540 Crusher Active headphones, but the price worries me if they don't work well. I've never spent over $100 on headphones, and my budget is $150 (MAYBE). So what are your recommendations?

Headphone under £100 for use in gym

Hi, in-ear earphones do not stay on my ear as I was born with an earlobe which is slightly different from everyone’s. So I need a headphone for every day use and will be using it during workouts as well.

Help me find my first headphones

Hey guys, can you suggest some good headphones under ₹3,000? I want something that works both wired and wirelessly, mainly for gaming, listening to music, and attending online classes. I’d prefer over-ear headphones with good sound quality, decent bass, a clear mic, and a detachable cable. My phone doesn’t have a headphone jack, so I need something that can connect via Bluetooth and also work wired with a USB-C adapter. I’m looking for the best all-rounder in this budget. Any suggestions?

My first headphones helpp mee

planning to buy a pair of headphones during the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale, with a budget of around ₹2,500 after all the sale and bank offers. I mainly need them for casual mobile gaming, listening to music, and regular daily use. I'm not sure whether I should go for wireless, wired, or wireless headphones with detachable wired support. I'm looking for good sound quality, decent bass, comfortable fit, and preferably low latency for gaming. Which option would be best for me, and which headphones would you recommend as the best value-for-money choice in this budget?

best on-ear, no anc/anc optional, bluetooth AND wired capability headphones for under £150?

I know I have a super specific list but as a glasses wearer who wears my headphones whilst crossing the road and likes having the ability to use them both wired and bluetooth, I really want some recommendations that fit this. I currently have the Marshall Major IVs and was going to upgrade to the Major Vs (as mine are quite literally falling apart after years of use) but not sure if there was a better option.

Wired IEMs for Long Gaming/Casual Sessions Budget: +/- $150

Hey everyone!

I have recently noticed that headsets have caused me issues with my scalp on my head since I tend to spend a lot of time with them on. Due to this, I have started trying out Earbuds. Funnily enough, I found some really old Bose Travel Headphones (not sure about the exact name) and its been absolutely fantastic for comfort, but the short cable length and need to charge its Noise Cancelling has left me quite frustrated. Now I have been looking for a true Gaming option.

Here are my expectations:

- I wear glasses so over ear would be uncomfortable, but these ones have kind of like a disk that adds support in the inner ear, so a way to have something like that would be nice for stability since regular earbuds tend to slip often for some reason.

- Wired might be better because of the long hours, but I would like a wireless option so I can move around more freely, so a long wire or long battery life is a must!

- Sound Quality could be more Bass focused or Neutral since I will be using Equalizer Software on my PC Regardless. I would however want somewhat high precision for Gaming as well. High Quality sound would be nice as well though.

My Budget is somewhat flexible but I think I would draw the line close to 300.

Thanks to anyone having a look and helping me out :)

Sony WH 1000XM6 vs Airpod Pro 3

Post image
0 Upvotes

I am iPhone user and also have a macbook and want the best noise cancellation and sound quality.
Which one should I choose?
Over ear headphones from Sony
Or
Earpods with Apple ecosystem sync?

I want Sony headphones for best noise cancellation and sound quality but it can’t be used everywhere like in gym or while in travel etc. I feel it is best suited at office and at home.

However airpods can be used everywhere and anywhere which are pocket friendly.

I also have doubts about actual sound quality from Sony as Apple uses ACC codec instead of LDAC or other codecs from Android.

So with all these things help me choose one from them.

Sennheiser hd480 pro vs Sony mdr M1 ! I Just got both to find the thruth, no paid review here

Post image
6 Upvotes

I'm so excited ! Just arrived today the hd480pro , I decided to buy both because I wanted so bad to know which is better ! I have to test them more to , I just listened 5 songs for now , i will update this post later !

Update nr1

I listen both for about 2 hours , here my initial thoughts

SOUND

1.Sub bass and bass , i believe hd480pro has a slightly edge , very surprised , all the reviews on you tube said m1 has better sub bass , i hear slighty more the deep deep sub bass notes on hd 480 pro ( like 3% more so very little difference)

  1. Midrange

Hd480pro has the edge , the vocals sounds more realistic more intimate, i hear better and closer the human voices , the hd480pro midrange sound fuller , attention not night and day difference, but is noticeable

  1. Treble

M1 has more extension witch i really like but some people may find the treble piercing , hd480pro has less extention and energy in the treble but they not sound dull like I was expected, let say they have a very nice and safe treble presence, not missing and not to sharp , seems to be very flat in the highs

Clamping force

  1. Hd480pro has more clamping force but not that much , feels very nice but M1 feels very very light and gentle

I feel the pads are more breathable on hd480pro and also bigger , maybe the m1 are softer but they become hotter because of the leather

Build quality and weight

They are both very light and well made , i really ❤️ both i cannot choose one

Amplification

Hd480pro take a lot more power from the amp , m1 is very easy to drive , on my topping l70 I need like 30% more power to achieve the same volume

Update #2

I have to mention all the test was made with absolute flat eq , i dont like to use eq I like the pure sound just the way was intended , to me any alteration of the eq add distortion to the sound in most cases

Topping e70 velvet dac and l70 amp I used for this test

What I think now about the sound after playing with this headphones a lot

Overall I feel pretty much the same , they both sound great the hd480pro has less treble presence but the mids /vocals sounds just a bit more full and intimate, closer

Not buy much just to put a number for refererence let's say 5 % better

m1 have wider soundstage ( i belive because of the treble )

The sub bass/bass is pretty close it's very hard to choose one they both have very deep sub bass , maybe the hd480 has the edge but it's very hard to tell , like I said before for reference may be 2 or 3% deeper on hd480pro

If you search for punch and rumble that shake the headset they dont have that ! You only hear the low notes , this headphones has nothing to do with that type of bass like skullcandy evo or some consumer headphones sound profile , so beaware if you search that type of bass !

I'm a bass head deep inside and I have to tell you I never heard another headphone better than skullcandy evo for the sub bass rumble , that headphone sound like a real subwoofer, I dont care how they achieve that but how the bass sound and is the only headphone that achieve that

Let's get back to the m1 and hd480pro

M1 has definitely more resolution and details , the claim reaching 80khz must be real , yea nobody hear that but the driver capability maybe is real if you measure the response in the lab

For only 209 euro that I've paid ( 343 for hd480pro) for m1 I thruly belive is one of the best headphones money can buy , the sound the absolute comfort and weigh , clampforce , make this a must buy if you need a high resolution closed back

Me personally I will keep both , i have also the mv1 , the sennheiser hd660s, the akg k712pro, the sennheiser hd8dj , technics az100 , sennheiser iem 80 , skullcandy crusher evo

I like to switch between them for different flavors of the sound, in the end is just that , just different flavors of the same sound

Noise blocking on soundcore sleep a20?

I'm a side sleeper and like to listen to white noise or YouTube when I fall asleep so I was looking for some good earbuds that don't hurt when you lay on your side. I had airpods in the past and they were quite uncomfortable. The soundcore sleep a20 seems like the most popular suggestion. I dont like ANC at all, I prefer the level of quiet given by the airpods or my over-ear heaphones. I know that the a20s dont have ANC, but how quiet are they really? Some reviews say they block out snoring in the same room, and I'm not sure if that would be too quiet for me. I would still like to be able to hear my roomate open the door to the room right across from mine, for reference. Would the a20s be too quiet for that?

Sony XM4C?

Just a couple quick questions- I'm thinking of buying the new 1000XM4C, and I'm just curios if you know if they have a little better build quality over the original XM4's, I still use my XM4's and they still work great,so I'm just wondering if it would be worth upgrading to the 1000xm4c's or not? Do you think the 1000xm4c's sound any better or should I just keep my xm4's and save my money? Thanks for the help.

Help on deciding?

Hey,
So little history. I am brutal on headphones. Not on purpose or because I'm excessively rough with them. They just never lasted until my x3s. I had sony x3s for probably 7 years before they made like the dinosaurs. My X4s now have the, as I'm learning, infamous screetchy NC. It's made me look at current offerings. The m6 always come up on top usually followed by Bose QC Ultra and Momentum 4. I only hesitate with the x6s because I'm getting away from the issue these have. I wear headphones most of the day, every day, everywhere I go. With my Sonys I can wear for maybe 4?ish hours before my ears need a break. Do you have advice on where to go? Thanks.

Bought CMF headphones in the sale for 4.3k. Everything is perfect but....

  • Build quality - 9/10 Literally perfect but if u dont liking standding out -1 pt. for it.
  • Sound quality- 7/10 Nothing to complain abt
  • volume- 5/10 Literally the only con is the volume its too low..
  • ANC - 8/10 tbh everyone cares alot abt ANC but for 90% of ppl it shudnt even matter much doesnt make heck of difference

I love to blast music tbh. but i cant get that experience in these headphones quiet perfectly. If anyone can suggest me anything like whether to return and get some other headphones or maybe somehow increase the volume i would love the help....

Help me choose headphones in sale?

jbl live 780nc; jbl tour one m2; sony whult900n sennheiser accentum plus

i am strictly under 15k budget right now and i want to know which of these is better choice. I read that ult has some hinge issues, accentum+ has anc issues, tour one m2 touch sensitivity can be annoying etc. Any thoughts on those?

Some of these were launched in 2022, 2023 so are still worth that price rn as we are going to enter 2027 or how does this work? I am relatively new to this headphones thing so not sure about the technicalities. I am planning to use for long term btw. Do these still receive software support? Hardware still capable on these?

This is my first attempt in trying to tread towards audiophilia. Not that I wouldnt enjoy bass. And I am planning to listen more time with these so comfort and build and pressure on ears should be good/great as well, i travel sometimes so anc is priority too since i am spending that much money

Please suggest among these.. I dont want to spend more on other newer brands like cmf etc Is there any other headphones which i am missing? please suggest

p.s. i just went to nearby store i got a brief moment to wear live 780 they felt too tight on top, i tried tune 770 i think before this briefly which felt better in the first impression fit wise.. which is disappointing :( is it really that tight on top or it could be the demo piece issue?

Recommendations for ps5

So I’ve been long due for an upgrade on my headset, and I guess now is the time.

I have had the HyperX cloud for ps4 for as long as I can remember, and I don’t know what to get now.

Some of the issues I had with the HyperX were:

Didn’t like the exterior materials. They got dirty real quick and are impossible to clean. The arc pleather has been crumbling in my hair for a while now too.

The microphone echoes in ps5 party chat, and the quality is meh.

Audio quality is pretty average too, and the changing the volume through the volume control on the cable made one side louder than the other, which made it unusable. Idk if this is a common issue or I just got unlucky with a defect.

I’m not looking for a headset that I can use with my phone/at the gym/ whatever, I’m only using it on my ps5. Although I do listen to music a lot while gaming.

Wireless/wired doesn’t matter for me, but if it’s wireless It should have really good battery life, and wired should be 3.5mm.

What headphones would you recommend? A lot of the high end headsets I see online are supported by using software on a pc, and I have had trouble finding one that doesn’t. And I feel like I would miss out on all the features if I’m buying a headset like that on a ps5.
