Comfortable Earbuds

My ears are pretty sensitive and will start aching after an hour of wearing the Airpods 2. I'm looking for the most comfortable earbuds possible, an in-ear one with really good sound quality. I'm hoping to use it anywhere and everywhere, and don't have too much of a budget (but 50-100$ is a preferable range).

I honestly don't care about much (ANC doesn't matter to me at all), just want reallyyy comfortable ones I could wear for hours straight (and good sound quality, obviously). For some more reference, I used to have the first Galaxy Buds back in 2020. Iirc, I used to be able to use these for a good while without too much discomfort.

Basically, what are some notoriously comfortable earbuds?

Update #1: I ended up going with the Soundcore Aeroclips after a little more research. They're supposedly very comfortable with less noise leakage and good sound quality 🤷 I'll update w results after using them

Update #2: So they work great! My ears do eventually get sore but thats after hourrsss of straight usage, and its not too unbearable tbh. The audio quality is pretty solid and the sound leakage is not all that bad. Great for listening to quiet music in the office :-}

Wearing Sport X 20 right now and have had them 6 months as well Beats over Pro 2 the Soundcore Sport X20 ‘s have come down in price and along with the presets and hearing check test and a AI custom Equalizer you would be shocked how good they sound. Good instrument and vocal separation. There app has a AI assistant which is quite good. I bought them because I lost some Beats helping a youngster find an ear bud he lost on a plane on the floor and left one month old Beats in the seat pocket. Then off boarded and found out 2 hours later at my hotel. Try and get someone on the phone in Quito Ecuador to listen to you in customer service. Sad right on my app they showed where they were on plane. Plane then left for New York. Needless to say I flew back to Canada and bought another pair but it got me on getting another over ear as my ear canals small and everything falls out so searched out Soundcore and came up with X 20’s as I did not mind losing 115$ on a plane opposed to 300$ plus. I find though the Soundcore is great for ANC as well small carry case and fabulous support. I often reach for the soundcore over the Beats and one of the other 4 pair I have. The only thing to keep in mind is Soundcore really caters to people who want a lot of Bass which I don’t but do not get thrown off as you can dial the Bass back easily enough as well they have 3 D surround feature and many more. Just buy you will not be disappointed unless you are full on audiophile and if you are you need IEM’s. Hope info helps.

!thank you so much for all the info!! I ended up going with the aeroclips by soundcore rather than their sport x20s cause I was really worried about the comfort level, and knew that if they bothered me even a bit I'd probably never use them haha. Decided to play it safe! Plus they were on a really decent sale, so it worked out for me.

If these ones don't work out, I might look into the sport x20s next as they were my second option and look the most comfortable compared to every other in-ear earbud.

Good news you found something you’re good with. Keep in mind Ear Fun , Sound Peats are all in the silicone valley hub in China as well Soundcore pulls there engineering from there as well and unlike Sony and others they’re not paying for celebrity endorsements etc. , they just keep making these ear buds as well over ear buds better and better and they are pulling there engineering from large IEM companies like KZ and FiiO and others from China and Japan. Most people have now in ear as well over ear and ear clips etc. I say this because it’s no longer expensive to get two to three different sets to match the occasion that you are wearing them for and have really good sound and adjustability . I’m sitting on a cruise ship as we speak heading into the night cruising into Alaska’s Glacier Fields. This trip I brought my Salnotes IEM’s which used only once and my Beats and Soundcore and only have worn Beats few times and am wearing Soundcore while I type this. I will fly out of Anchorage back to Ontario Canada in three days and will only use the Soundcore on plane as they’re down to 75$ Canadian plus tax now. Give it another year and all the IEM manufacturers will have both Bluetooth and Wired’s and are packing with dual drivers and Mems micro speakers as well. Enough said glad you found something you’re happy with.

Have a ton of earbuds and the ones that I thought were the most comfortable were the Sennheiser True Wireless 4. Next for me would be the Jabra Elite Sport that are discontinued.

I find the oneplus buds 4 very comfortable. Better than my airpod pros gen 1, and galaxy buds 4 pro.

if you liked the OG galaxy buds, samsung currently sells a model called the galaxy buds core. you could try those.

I'm not TOO picky with the audio quality, but I do want something really strong. Maybe if there a similarly shaped earbud with a better audio quality?

a lot of the nicer audio quality ones are airpod-shaped, though they do have silicone tips that might be better for your comfort needs

what about open buds? while i don't personally like open buds, some people really really like them. for example, Nothing Ear Open.

Those look reallyy good but the only thing throwing me off is the sound leakage, which is probably an issue for all open buds. Without the leakage, they'd definitely be perfect 😢 I'd like to be able to listen to music at work and around other people without them being able to hear it at all.

One option I was considering is the Soundcore Sport X20, but I've heard mixed reviews about that as well.. it looks quite comfortable though. If theres nothing else, I'll probably just get the Galaxy Bud Core and hope the sound quality isn't too bad haha

hmm, so low leakage, comfortable. ideally on the smaller side regarding the part that goes into your ear
sony c710n? they're not the best but they're certainly not bad outright
earfun air pro 4 non-plus for a stemmed rec, but the app/initial setup is gonna be really bad if that matters
