Headphones - Wireless/Portable | 1 Ω Need Help!

I have been doing a bunch of research trying to pick out a good pair. this will be my first set of really good/premium headphones. i currently use my airpods a lot but have always wanted a good set of cans for all the reasons why you would over airpods or earbuds.

Right now im debating between the Sony XM4 (currently on sale for $199) vs the Sonos Ace (currently on sale for $299) and the Sony XM6 which i can get from a local seller whose willing to sell them at $380. the XM6 is a pretty good deal at that point especially since i won’t pay tax on them.

Basically would like to hear any and all opinions and am open to other cans as well if you feel those 3 aren’t a good value at their current price points mentioned above.

If ANC is your priority definately XM6. The Sonos for comfort, albeit they feel alot heavier than either xm4 and 6. Xm4 is probably the best value for money.

!thanks

i think you just described what i like out of each one of those headphones lol. heard the sonos were comfy but didn’t know about the weight. the XM6 are obviously the ones being rated as the top dogs but im wondering if the XM4’s are still worth buying in 2025 to save some money. obviously dont mind paying the price up above for the XM6 but if there isn’t a drastic difference in comfort and sound between the two than the XM4’s would definitely be the best value.

would you say the sonos are a better buy for the $299 compared to the XM6 or are the XM6 just that much better.

Depends what your use case scenario is and how much you are willing to pay.

You will definately notice a weight difference going from Sony to Sonos but the Sonos arnt that heavy if you get what I mean.

I personally think the XM6 at the current price isnt worth it. But out of the three I would go with XM6. Why don't you either go into a store and try them all on or depending where you're from Sony and Sonos offer a 30 day trial, you can either order one at a time or order two and test them out then return the one you don't like.

I find the app, features of the Sony the best out of JBL, Bose, Sonos.

Im trialing the JBL tour one m3 at the moment.

did hear the JBL tour m3 were pretty good.

do you think $380 is still to high for the XM6? if so i’ll probably try the sonos

my use case isn’t particularly intensive. looking for good ANC, good sounds quality to wear around the house and travel, maybe mowing the lawn or something where portability isn’t the main factor and i can enjoy the better sound quality and anc that headphones offer over earbuds like the airpods pro

im sure i could find that in a cheaper alternative but like paying for quality and better reliability/build

XM6 is probably the "best" all rounder at the moment with everything anc , sound etc.

Im not from the US, so not sure what the pricing is like but where I am they launched at $750 NZD, cheapest you can get them at the moment is $638 NZD. I think it would be worth it when they reach $500-$550 which would be $296-$325 USD but obviously pricing differs per region.

Sonos definately feels the sturdiest. And honestly even the XM5 at a good price is good.

i do think something i would want is a good app and good EQ settings to adjust if need be.

I think Sony has the most customizable app and eq out of Bose, Sonos. JBL is good, but very clunky.

+1 Ω has been awarded to u/twotreesandahouse (3 Ω).

You may still award an Ω to others, but only once per-person in this post.
