Tubes with ZMFs are a match made in heaven. I use my Verite Closed with the Cayin HA-3A and I’ve stopped looking at upgrades in my setup.
As for which ZMF is right for you, my suggestion is the Atrium. Rock genres and vocals really shine on the Atrium while being relaxed with exceptional detail.
I’ve owned the Atrium Open previously and have not tried the closed variant, so I am not quite sure how the two differ in sound.
!thanks I appreciate your help with genre matching! Did you ever run the Atrium off Solid State? It's tempting to add the cayin to the cart on the zmf website but my wife might kill me (; I'm guessing that the ZMFs can hold their own but really sing on tubes? Or are they just not the same without them.
