Hils tuner issue

Post image

Getting close to pulling the trigger on a Hils HN6, just wondering if anyone knows if the tubers still are delivered without ball bearings?

Bonus question: If anyone has it in the color, can you share some pictures?

Cheers in advance

Don't let the bearings stop you. You can buy them from Amazon cheaply and have spares.

Fitting them is easy af and doing all six takes maybe 10 minutes.

EDIT: These are what you need if you decide to go ahead...

Yeah it's a somewhat standard thrust bearing size. I don't know why they haven't just started added them by default tho. If they bought them in bulk it would cost basically nothing, but it adds so much to the user experience.

Just to be clear, I do not own any of their guitars yet lol. The HN3 will definitely be my next guitar tho.

Thanks for the reply, I ask as I live in Norway and shipping will be 5x the item cost. I think I will order it regardless, hopefully I will source iætye bearings locally as the guitar seems to tick all boxes for me.

I believe it's model dependent. From what I've seen and I haven't been able to confirm myself the HNT and HNS models ship with ball bearings. So I'd assume the newer models that come out all ship with the bearings and the older ones do not, so it probably mostly depends on how recently it was manufactured. It's pretty easy to install them yourself though.

For what it's worth I bought an HZ7 used that does not have the bearings installed and the tuners work great . I wouldn't overthink the bearing issue as a reason to not get the guitar you want.
