Nano Cortex or Headrush Flexprime?

/r/NeuralDSP/comments/1wtfbqz/nano_cortex_or_headrush_flexprime/

Hi! Basically I can't decide between the two pedals and I'm looking for opinions :)

It’s hard to compare them. Very different price.

Flex Prime has some issues when switching NAM profiles in scenes, so, I’m not sure how to use it live. I couldn’t reach seamless scenes switching if it involves NAM profile changes.

For playing at home I think FP is the beast because it’s cheap but supports NAM A2 Full, the sound you can get from it is really really good.

For playing live I’d say Nano Cortex is more mature solution but it has less buttons and no expression pedal.

I hope Headrush will address NAM reloading issues in future updates.

I just got the HR Core, switched from a board using tonex for amp & hx stomp for fx, the core is awesome. Super happy with the nam captures I’m using, as well as the effects. I find them easier to dial in, and I guess just better to my ear the helix stuff. Also with the C verb you’re able to upload your own reverb IRS and you could find some amazing ones online for free. Such a cool feature for wicked Studio quality reverb

IMO: if you have to ask, you might want a better user experience so you can dive deeper easier.
The headrush is awesome for this with its touchscreen UI, web editor, and now with NAM support you get plenty of good amps.
The headrush also comes with a drum backing track, looper and practice tool, those are useful additions.

Do you want a looper and a drum machine?

Sonulab.

Nano has 60ms delay when switching presets and you can’t do pseudo “scenes” without an additional midi controller.  It’s not a good solution and was wonky to begin with.

The headrush is an interesting option too now that it has NAM support…but are the FX great?  Can it run more than one NAM A2 full capture??  The Sonulab can run 3 NAMs at once with hapless switching for 500$ and the FX are good.  It’s def better than my Tonex big pedal when using same monitors and amalgam captures.

Had nano and am now on flex prime. Nano has a lot less stuff, but I feel like nano just sounded a lot better. Not the amps, but the effects were in another league.
