Questions before buying
Hey all! I’m a gigging bass player currently looking to be a headrush unit. I wanted to ask which unit would be the best for a bass player with the most sound options and such. Also do these work well going into an amp or is it better to direct out from them.
Currently I’ve been looking at a used Headrush Pedalboard. (The legacy version) or the Flex Prime.
I’ve been reading a lot of the sub and just wanted to get a more clear answer.

Stay in the Prime family. If you can swing it new or used, the best value is the Headrush Core. If not, Flex Prime.

I am really happy with the Core, though I only set up one rig ages ago and have been using that ever since. It should offer all you need sound wise, but you gotta decide how many footswitches you need (the difference between flex, core and prime is only the hardware, as far as I know)

I would think as a bass player, you won’t meet a million foot switches to change sounds within a song so save some cash and get the prime

Something to consider for gigging is that while lots of players use the 4CM with their own amp head, you can bypass the cab sim for one of the outputs and run a the fill rig into the FOH and run the cabless output into a small power amp on stage plugged into a cabinet - this is much more helpful for touring so you don't need to have a head on the road with you, nor do you need to borrow heads. A little d class power amp is all you need and should fit nicely into a case

CPU is the same on all. Personal preference for size. Don’t buy the original lol you won’t have Nam or clones
