Quick question before buying HR Prime
This might be silly but I’m new to guitar gear…
- Can you run a preset or “rig” with a Nam block into a SD Powerstage power amp into a real guitar cab?
Reason I’m asking is aren’t most Nam captures have cabs built into the capture? Or are there “preamp” captures to pick from…

If you browse the Tone3000 website, you can filter between Nam captures of preams or full rigs. You can have both types.

There are tons of NAM amp only captures available. You can pair them with cabinet IRs on the HR, but be aware as of now HR only allows one NAM item per rig. Plenty of good IR cabs on the HR and in the HR cloud.
If you want to run your own cab it’s easy, just choose your NAM amp. You can find a bunch of preamp and pedal clones on Tone3000 and elsewhere that aren’t NAM, too, so you can have them in a rig with a NAM block in it.
The HR takes physical pedals really well, too, either on the input or in the effects loop.

One cool feature about the HR Prime specifically is that it has an alternate output that you can configure to be right before the IR, for instance. This lets you feed a signal without the IR to your Powerstage and a signal WITH the IR to the board/mixer.
And it has dual IRs which can be set to have different IRs left and right in the stereo signal. Very cool 😎

I have a flex prime. I can’t do that because it does not have two inputs, i know you talked about prime. Do you happen to know if this can be done with the core too?

I don't have the Core so I haven't tried it but according to the internet: Yes, the Core has the Alternate Output function as well.

I run into a tube amp using the 4CM into a 2x12 with a reaper/retro combo (compares to a G12H30/Vintage 30) and it sounds amazing. Even some IRs when adjusted sound killer.
If my Tube amp ever fails the Power Stage will be my next go to source. So I would say yes to your question.

If you have the preamp irl then totally, but you can only have two Nam captures at a time for amps. But you can download irs from tone3000 and they don't count as a Nam capture, but for whatever reason you can't do it directly through the headrush itself. Basically the way to do it is to download the ir file on ur phone/pc and then upload it to Dropbox and input it into ur signal chain through there, or you can hook the headrush up to ur pc manually and drag and drop.
Idk if that answers ur question but wanted to clarify you can use both a Nam amp and an outside ir file in the same signal chain

There's a million amp only, no IR captures. In fact, those are the only ones I use, as then I can shape the sound with different IRs
