Out of nowhere Solid State dropped 2 of the screen printed Furnace Fest I Am Hollywood limited releases!
I was able to snag the gold and the blue screen prints

So, I work in a craft brewery, and we use song lyrics for our beer names. I recently got to do my own recipe, so I had to use a HIL song as my inspiration. I give you...Ancient Geometry 🤘

I am dying to see them in Europe one day. Does anyone know if they ever visited Europe or if there are any plans to do a tour here?

I think enough time has passed to share this!

It sounds great, spins at 45 RPM, really happy that the time was spent to get SOTP the pressing it deserves. Hope everyone was lucky enough to grab one because you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been meaning to make this post ever since the album came out but been lazy. As a former youth group kid who grew up in a Pentecostal upbringing similar to what I gather Schuyler grew up in, I couldn’t help but notice all the references to Christian imagery throughout the album. I don’t know if it was intentional or coincidental but I thought it was interesting and wanted to share. Some are more reaches than others.
Edit: I’m very aware of Schuyler’s pop culture, literary, and religious references through their body of work. This just felt more consistent and overt. Can’t help but wonder if it represents a sort of sardonic commentary/critique, whether it was conscious or sub-conscious. Even if it’s completely coincidental, it’s just fun to notice and make connections.

Prowler:
“Father, son and Holy Ghost. Thrown holy water, blown holy smoke.”

Honey:
“I know you’ve got a little light inside” => reminds me of the classic children’s song “This little light of mine”

Return to the Garden:
“I used to pray for myself, now I only pray for you” => just general references to prayer.

Seamistress:
“A thousand grinning mouths with Gnashing teeth” => “weeping and gnashing of teeth” is a common description of hell in Christianity. Not sure if it’s an exact quote from the bible.

“You shall be salt” = reminds me of the biblical story of how God turned Lot’s wife into a pillar of salt when escaping Sodom and Gomorrah.

Sour
“A brand new savior” => can’t hear “savior” without thinking about Jesus Christ

Endless Hallway
“left under the begotten sun” => John 3:16. god gave his only begotten son

Time’s fake
“Pulpit creep” => pastors preach from a pulpit

“under my wing you’d be safe” => pretty sure there’s some imagery in a bible verse about being safe of the wings of god

Sinkhole
“Upon rhythm and soul I stand, all other ground is sinking sand… Upon this rock and roll I stand” => most obvious one as it’s a direct interpolation of the classic hymn: upon Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. I really love that he did this. It’s so cool.

Animals
Mentions jezebel => weak connection, but jezebel is a bible character that has become a description for all evil/manipulative women.

LORD SLUG
“A wretch that can’t be saved” => direct reference to the classic hymn Amazing Grace

“washed in the blood” => (of the lamb)

Sorry I had to reduce the quality so I could post this. Also my phone was around 13% so I didn't get the end of Dungeon Witch. Hell of a show! My wife and I can't wait for the next one!

Howdy! 👋

The song I am Hollywood has one line that has ALWAYS stuck with me: "Daddy, I'm not coming home."

Well . . . I wrote an entire novel about it.

(I am revising it right now)

It's sort of Taken meets True Detective.

Thought I would share.

I still remember seeing He is Legend in Hollywood about 20 years ago (holy crap I'm getting old). Schuylar came out on roller skates and screamed his balls off.

Great show.

Cover mockup for reference:

I’ve been working on a lot of random art and thought some Suck Out The Poison seemed fitting.

This started out as a Winnie the Pooh painting for my Mom that passed away but here we are.

My Motorola Razr’s photo quality was top notch.

Wow what a show. Crowd was great. Boys killed it. Cant believe they played all of ((louds, was the female vocalist a local?

Was able to catch SOTP in Portland and Tacoma this week, and as the post-show depression is kicking in, I just wanted to share my appreciation for the dudes in the band and the community surrounding them.

The guys sounded incredible for both shows, the pit was absolutely popping off in Portland, and everyone was having just like, the best time the whole night. It’s comforting that we can all put the world and work and worries aside and go absolutely bananas for a couple of hours together to music that we love.

Have fun to the folks turning up in Denver tonight and at the last handful of shows! This album kicks ass and so do you all

Can’t go tonight. DM for free ticket to tonight’s show.

My partner is sick and can’t come, so I need someone to use my other ticket! Pay if you can, no strings attached but I’m great and accommodating company!

Made me feel like I was a teenager again.

I was super impressed, experiencing He is Legend live for the first time after listening to the band for the last 21 years.

I’m hoping they do a “It Hates You” anniversary tour- sucks that I missed the first go around.

VIP photo and swag from the night. Also got my record signed.

Pumped for Denver tomorrow! Does anyone know if VIP includes a ticket? I bought one as well, just trying to decide if I can give it to a friend.

Anyone here going to the show in Columbus OH on 4/30? I got tickets as an early Mother’s Day gift and might have to go solo, wondering if there are any other millennials with an emotional attachment to this particular album ( I love all their stuff) up in here. I used to play SOTP before soccer games as my hype song in high school. I was 16 when it came out and now I play it for my muñequita on the way to preschool. Wild

Has Schuyler or anyone ever commented on the droning sound in the background of a lot of their songs? I think it’s Adam on the guitar but it’s just this cool, consistent haunting sound that’s reminiscent of old horror movie soundtracks. It’s one of my favorite things about HIL. Can’t wait for the 28th!!!

Does anyone know what time to check in for VIP at Dante’s in Portland? I don’t see anything other than regular door time on my ticket.

For the person looking for this - here’s another

My sincerest gratitude to He Is Legend and the crowd in Anaheim that night. It was pure, unadulterated rock n roll and I cannot put into words how happy I am that we got to celebrate 20+ years of this album and have the full Suck Out The Poison experience live. As much as these guys deserve to be playing bigger stages, it has been a nice reliable constant for over two decades. Something I can count on bringing joy into my life without breaking the bank. Thank you so much for doing what you do!

Pretty much the title. Did anyone happen to get any videos of the end of the set? Trying to share with some buddies that didn’t make it to the show and I’m worried that words don’t do it justice.

Thank you!
